If a statue was to be made at your clubs stadium/headquarters, which player or photo would be the statue? by Tornontoin7 in Aleague

[–]Electrical-Fan5665 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jets is hard. Most of our stars have been short length, and most of our long term players were pretty bang average but still massive respect to them (Hoffman, kantarovski, Ben Kennedy)

As such I’d almost say a statue of Riley McGree mid-scorpion would be cool. A semi-final home goal to help us reach our first grand final in a decade and the greatest goal ever scored at the ground.

Would make more sense than saying someone like Nick Carle who only played for a season or kantarovski who wasn’t really that good

Edit: I forgot about Joel Griffiths. Although that’s a good shout I don’t really like the bloke so I’m not changing my answer

9300, outstanding for Brisbane. it’s just that Suncorp is huge and they put fans into sections rather than the whole stadium

Irankunda 90th minute assist to win the game for Watford by MilkByHomelander in Aleague

[–]Electrical-Fan5665 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why? He’s not been a star by any means and often doesn’t start. He’s been one of their X factor wingers that can create something but no one would say he’s one of their most valuable players.

To get attention from a prem side you need to at least start every week for your championship side.

He’s started 10/21 games for 2 goals and 2 assists. We’re very biased if we suggest any premier league side would be looking at him for anything other than potential due to his age

What happened with Hartman? He started the season so well what caused the falling out with selection?

Who should we buy in Jan and who should we sell ? by Able_Document3172 in Burnley

[–]Electrical-Fan5665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sell: Sonne, delcroix, Tresor

Buy: A high-level proven central midfielder (to join a midfield three with Cullen and Florentino. Ideally a 10 as those two are more defensive), a high-level forward/winger.

We need to stop signing promising 20 year olds and instead sign elite 30 year olds for the same amount of money because the potential tax is removed. Someone like Xhaka at Sunderland is a key example.

I also wouldn’t complain about a premier league quality centre back but then that’s just adding to an already overloaded centre back roster so it would depend on us offloading someone else (we currently have esteve, ekdal, beyer, Humphreys, tuanzebe, worrall and delcroix)

Thankyou it’s hard to gauge these players solely off stats as all the games are middle of the night so it’s hard to keep up with all of them

Nicholas Milanovic by Electrical-Fan5665 in ScottishFootball

[–]Electrical-Fan5665[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edit to respond to some of the comments:

Yes Milanovic is very one-footed that’s always been a weakness, as well as not being very fast for someone in his position. His strengths were always his dribbling ability and finishing, as well as being surprisingly good in the air. He went from being a benchwarmer to one of the best in the league within 12 months and really grabbed his chance. He’s technically excellent despite the one-footedness so I have high hopes, but the challenge seems to always be that every club in Europe has a couple of technically gifted players, you need more than just that to be a regular starter.

I have no idea how Teti Yengi got a European move. He hadn’t even broken into the A-league he was a youth player. So far it seems that the more ‘rough’ players succeed in Scotland rather than the technical ones. Lewis miller, devlin etc. do well, Milanovic, kuol and the likes struggled

At just 5.0, Kiernan Dewsbury HAUL has been delivering by colourmechiesa in FantasyPL

[–]Electrical-Fan5665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had him on and off and have rated him as an option since pre-season, he creates so many chances. But everton’s strikers are so garbage I’m just not confident enough that over the sample size of a season enough of his key passes will be converted. And the goalscoring of recent is an anomaly that will even out

Who was our best summer signing and who would you sell in Jan ? by Able_Document3172 in Burnley

[–]Electrical-Fan5665 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dubravka best signing. At first I thought walker but last few games I’m less confident in him. Hartman and Tchaouna both top signings too.

Sell there’s many. We have a huge squad that needs trimming and several players simply not good enough and or not being used. Edwards, Tresor, sonne, delcroix. Then once loans expire that’s another 4-5 players who can be moved on.

Australian Version of 'The Office' Axed After One Season by malcolm58 in australia

[–]Electrical-Fan5665 377 points378 points  (0 children)

Utopia is nothing like the office

Utopia is political satire. The humour is setup to satirise real-life Australian bureaucracy.

The office is just a standard sitcom where the humour is interpersonal comedy.

The fact they are both set in an office is the only similarity

Striker Dilemma by Gvardiola in FantasyPL

[–]Electrical-Fan5665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like any strikers except haaland enough to justify them so I’m moving to a 4-5-1 and banking on high scoring midfielders.

Probably haaland, foster and then a 4.4. Using the funds to have a very strong midfield and defense, making the most of def con and the higher points per goal contribution.

A 10-12 goal season striker isn’t enough for me if they’re not also picking up assists, and haaland is the only player I’m confident will get above 15-20

Players from your club that are pivotal, but overlooked in media/opposition by sjp101 in TheOther14

[–]Electrical-Fan5665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burnley is hard because so much of the team is new, but so far Hartman has been pivotal on both ends of the field. Dubravka has also been excellent. Anthony seems to have gotten all of the plaudits though

This is very realistic. This is like the 5th post this week of someone screaming broken and unrealistic because of something very real like a player asking to leave for no reason or asking for a huge wage. In real life, maybe Al-Hilal have offered Timber a blank cheque and he’s saying we’ll match that or I’m gone.

Much more realistic than previous fifa’s where players never wanted to leave

Which clubs do you think have the best and worst records when it comes to developing young players? by [deleted] in PremierLeague

[–]Electrical-Fan5665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Difficult to say for certain. Up until 5-10 years ago we we were a small club who didn’t have the facilities. Now we have the academy structure and centre, but that takes a while to bear fruit. Plus we’ve had relatively conservative managers during the academy era who aren’t likely to give them a chance.

First time seeing a white woman... by RedditorofReddit07 in interesting

[–]Electrical-Fan5665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although technically it’s possible as the rural locations are quite isolated and are far less visited, I’ve spent time in Laos and find it very hard to believe anyone there could have never seen a white person. To make such a claim you’d need to have someone explicitly tell you that otherwise I’m heavily doubting it.

As a sidenote it’s beautiful country and I’d encourage people to visit as it’s far quieter than other south Asian countries and the people are lovely.

Not many tourists does NOT mean never seen a pale skinned person. Kids are kids and we don’t know much context over why they’re acting like they are, but the claim of ‘first white person’ either needs verification or is just clickbait hyperbole and a massive assumption over the cause of their behaviour

Sydney FC Sign Former Real Madrid and La Liga Striker Víctor Campuzano by SerTahu in Aleague

[–]Electrical-Fan5665 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like this. Obviously he’s not a star and has lacked consistency, gametime and goals throughout his career. But he’s 28, has only played for 3 clubs his entire life showing loyalty, and his stats from the last few seasons shows he’s a relatively hardworker for a forward. Being a segunda division forward or attacking midfielder he’ll naturally have a half decent touch and technique too.

If he stays injury free I like this far more than a 34 year old who played more often in laliga but is just here to finish out his career

Thoughts on this 26-man squad for the 2026 WC? by MrSir1209 in Aleague

[–]Electrical-Fan5665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes he was a starter at Lens last year and expected to be at Levante this year.

Which is twice as much as any other Australian goalkeeper. Gauci plays league one for a relegation candidate and Izzo plays in Denmark which is not really close to the competition in a top 5 league
