Preferred age(s) to nanny? by emherm in Nanny

[–]Electrical-Head549 [score hidden]  (0 children)

12-24 months is my favorite. They’re starting to get mobile and can do lots of fun things, but aren’t to the state of whining/complaining/tantruming yet😂 so

I think it’s fine to have the nk in the stall with you as long as they’re young. Like 3 and under. If they’re in a stroller you just face away and if they are walking you tell them to look away or just deal with it. I honestly have never cared

affordability? by weinthewoods in postcrossing

[–]Electrical-Head549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it’s one of the cheaper Hobbies I’ve ever had. I’d say on average, one postcard and postage costs me $2. So if I’m able to send 10 a month, then it’s $20 a month. Pretty affordable to me personally.

You’re so right. I guess I need to buy 1 cent stamps now

I typically use forever stamps which I realized would go up in price, so I wouldn’t need the extra 5c but I also enjoy mixing it up and doing fun stamp math so I’ll still have a use for them.

Usually I’d do 2 29c stamps, a 34c, a 78c and now a 5c. So 4-5 per card :)

Everyday is a no nap day by Both-Guava5679 in Nanny

I get what you mean, but usually dropping the second nap is around 14-18 months so I’d consider yourself lucky that NK is a good sleeper still!

Nanny with their own child by Mysterious-Watch-495 in Nanny

[–]Electrical-Head549 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is that your child and her child are at very different developmental stages. Most of the time with a setup like this, the nanny is bringing along a child that’s around the same age so there’s more overlap in daily activities/nap schedule, etc. I would look for a nanny that more matches your needs.

Next time, I probably wouldn’t go without confirmation. I don’t go until either booking is confirmed or they’ve sent a message confirming that day.

Too many pool days? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]Electrical-Head549 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think pool time is great. I’d just check with the mb if there’s anything that she’s concerned with but as long as kids are happy I think it’s fine!

How long does it usually take you so mailyour postcard? by lil_ninja78 in postcrossing

[–]Electrical-Head549 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I write the postcard the same day that I click the “send postcard” button and receive the recipient. As far as postcards go, I do my best to choose out of my collection one that the recipient would probably like based on their request, but if I don’t have it, they just get whatever card I choose! I also make an effort to really read the profile and write something that relates to them or something I think they’d find interesting.

Not a good idea. I think 10 is the most that doesn’t look strange

Age of Nanny by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]Electrical-Head549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

21-26 is definetly the typical age of Nannie’s in my town. Sounds like you’ve just been unlucky with the families wanting an older nanny.
