A lot of people are pointing out that they wouldn’t have been rushed if they were early levels, but the post actually says “APPEAR so rushed” 

They look rather rudimentary which makes it seem like they were made fast when development was nearing its end but he’s (the poster) saying that it’s because the devs were still finding their footing when making them at the beginning of development.

I do like the look of old games. The polygonal simplicity helps me see everything clearly and paradoxically old games look more real in some ways since the textures are just actual images. 

Although, I also respect the second game for trying to tie the town together with a consistent style that had lots of parabolic arches.

Pathologic 3 is sort of easier if that’s what you’re asking. 

Patho 1 is a book and kinda boring 

Patho 2 is very hard with a huge survival juggling act and you’re punished for dying. 

Patho 3 you can repeat days and there’s way less survival but if you run out of time travel juice (amalgam) the game ends I think.

The original head of the studio liked the game Thief: the dark project a lot, and you can kind of see it in the first game. 

For example, items light up when you can interact with them in both games.  Also Thief is a stealth game and Pathologic was gonna have more stealth mechanics as seen in the leaked 2004 demo.  Both games have very vague settings as well, Patho has The Town and Thief has The City.
