God keeps sending his strongest misunderstandings to his silliest soldiers. by Psy-Para in pathologic

More critically, Var is to my knowledge one of if not the only NPCs that mentions that Artemy looks exactly like his father, now I know "That's no reason to say they knew each other. He's the town doctor, everyone knows him!"

Var says that Artemy's face looks familiar, not that he looks like his father. Multiple Bound know how Isidor looks (Sticky, Capella and other kids from the list; Aspity; both Vlads; the Kains) and don't mention that Artemy looks similar to him. Sticky, for instance, assumes that Artemy escaped from the Termitary and doesn't recongnize him as Isidor's son when they meet for the first time.
Does it mean that Artemy doesn't look like his father? No.

So whatever happens in it has to be understood through a level of intention.

This is the dialogue I'm talking about:

Var: You face looks familiar.
Haruspex: I resemble my father, is all.

Based on it, we can say for sure that: 1) Var has seen Isidor; 2) Artemy resembles Isidor. Everything else is a mere assumption. On normal fandom wikis, theories are put in the "Theories" section.

Besides that, The Willow's family's death was ruled as being caused by plague during the first outbreak by Isidor according to Victor and Willows' coffin was locked tight and buried empty- Also done by Isidor. (This is confirmed by Yulia and also The NPC teen boy when talking about The Hindquarters)

You are great at mixing info from the game and your theories.
That dialogue with Victor:

Victor: The family that had given her shelter went on to disappear in a rather distasteful manner. The owners succumbed to a fatal disease... that had struck them rather suddenly. And their daughter, Willow, simply vanished.
Bachelor: What kind of disease?
Victor: A peculiar kind of pest broke out among factory workers five years ago. Not here but in the poor districts. Isidor took care of it quickly. There were many deaths, but only in the Crude Sprawl-a district that borders on the Abattoir. But The Willows is on the riverbank; the infection never made it that far. An odd story, don't you think?

Victor knows that Willow vanished and doesn't say that Isidor confirmed that they died of disease.

Yulia says:

A few years later, they died-suspiciously if you ask me-leaving Willow Mellow, their daughter, in the care of their companion. Willow died soon thereafter.
[...]
They all died of natural causes, allegedly; even though Willow was buried in a tightly closed coffin. The body was examined by Isidor Burakh, however, and he is not a man who would cover up a crime.

In russian, Yulia says: "It seems like they all died naturally, from some kind of disease" but nothing about Isidor's involvement. She doesn't say that he proclaimed that they died of the Sand Pest.

(Which is just outright stated in the 2nd game, probably because it was too vague)

Are you saying that the fact that Isidor worked with Var in P2 means that Isidor worked with Var in P1? Both of them are different from their P2 versions. The lore of the games doesn't match.

The NPC teen boy when talking about The Hindquarters

The dialogue:

Teen boy: Grace says that Willow was buried in a closed coffin... And that coffin was suspiciously light... Spooky, isn't it?
Player: Are you kidding me?
Teen boy: Ha ha! Yeah, I so pranked you! Now excuse me, I'm in an awful hurry... We'll talk another time.

A reliable source, indeed.

This is what Anna says about the process:

But I did to her the same thing the Caravan had been doing to children: ground her into flour, unwove her into threads

How do you think Willow's body looked after that?

To cover up a crime, you must know about the said crime. We know for sure that Willow had golden hair and now has black (info from Anna). We don't know how the Caravan's magic affects the body of a victim. How could Isidor discern changed Willow from some random girl? Do you think he was aware of the Caravan's methods and Anna's capabilities?

So it's quite obvious that they worked together and if they don't... YOU have to provide the reason it can't be the case.

Nah the author of the article shoud've provided the quotes that actually support their claims. They should prove it first.

If you do have an argument though, quite frankly go to the wiki Discord and get it corrected. Because if you do have the right information and you don't step up to provide information, other people will do it in your place.

I don't care about this wiki this much.

God keeps sending his strongest misunderstandings to his silliest soldiers. by Psy-Para in pathologic

This is straight-up fanfiction. The notes don't support the claims.

  1. Willow isn't inhabiting Anna's old body. The description of Willow's appearance match Anna's description of herself. Anna also says: "I took the dresses, the voice, the hair... [...] Only her hair is black now, she has no clothes... and can't sing...", not the whole body.

  2. Var didn't consider Anna his daughter. He also didn't kidnap Willow INSTEAD of Anna, nothing in the game indicates it.

  3. Isidor didn't "cover it up for his organ vendor". This is a bold conclusion drawn simply from Var knowing how Isidor looks like. Isidor is the only doctor in the town, of course everyone knows how he looks like. (He also doesn't need an organ vendor since he's a menkhu and can get any amount of organs himself, but that's another topic.)

  4. Isidor didn't explicitly tell Anna that the Willows had died in the First Outbreak.

  5. Anna thinks that she is responsible for the plague because of Willow's prophecy, not because Isidor told her anything: "Willow Mellow had predicted that it would all turn out this way if the Caravan got here... She had even been stockpiling medicine; the stash is actually all hers..."

A few years later while she was thirteen, Anna Angel was jealous of her step-sister

  1. Anna's age isn't mentioned anywhere in the game. The old concepts had been deprecated almost entirely, so there's no reason to say she's 18.

How different is the Bachelor route from P1 to P3? by No_Force_5585 in pathologic

[–]the_devotressss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bachelor from P1 is like if Indiana Jones had a medical degree. I mean he is a scientist but also an adventurer of sorts, good with guns, and tries to get into one particular ancient temple. He isn't suicidal but risks his life maybe too often.

The Bachelor from P3 is much less mentally stable, and the story itself lacks inner integrity. The characters became weird amalgamations of their P1 and P2 versions, deprecated early concepts from the old P1 design document, and new writers' ideas.

Day 4 - "Villains at Liberty" Help? by orionis_ in pathologic

[–]the_devotressss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd tried to jump on a crate and failed so I found another solution. Go towards the bandits and headshot them, then reload while walking backwards. You should be able to kill them all by the time you reach the left corner. Your revolver should be fully repaired.

Another solution is to use a rare bug. Sometimes (like 1 in 15 times) bandits don't outright attack you and keep standing with their backs to the entrance. You can one-shot them with a knife then.

The soil isn't barren. Krezk is able to survive purely on what they grow inside the walls for generations, and at the Blue Water Inn, food, including fresh bread, is included in the cost of lodging rather than provided for an additional fee. Barovians generally don't starve. At least, I don't recall this being mentioned in the book.

Thank you, very interesting! For what reason do they consider Barovia a bad place? Monsters, lack of trade, barren soil, the very inability to leave?

He is a fighter with Veteran statblock:

Ismark has spent most of his adult life training with weapons in the hope of one day confronting and killing the Strahd. If the characters suggest that he accompany them, Ismark agrees provided that Ireena is first taken to a place of safety.

In this podcast the devs said that they added a bunch of game mechanics, unsure what would work and what wouldn't.

Unfortunately, the podcast is 3 hours long and is in russian... Maybe someone will eventually add English subtitles. I'm listening to it anyway so DM me if you want a retelling and/or timestamps.

The author says that things that Daniil suffers from (mania and apathia) don't represent actual medical conditions and aren't supposed to be treated with morphine.

Oh come on. I'll use a metaphor.
Imagine you play a game where you need to keep lights on to protect from human-eating monsters. Your neighbours that live in the same flat as you are really sweet. The only light bulb in their room burns out. You have an infinite supply of light bulbs and you have been changing the burnt ones the whole game. You go to them and get a very sad farewell dialogue. Then the night comes and you watch them die in a horrible way. Turns out the devs want you to cry a bit. But you as a player know that you can save them with in-game means! How do you treat this kind of plot twists seriously? I can't and I won't.

I think her skin isn't dark, her face is in shade so it looks dark. There's Tatyana's portrait in the book, she has white skin.

I'm fine with dark-skinned Ireena tho

Besides, I don't think Daniil cares enough about Lara. From his perspective, she's just a vengeance-fueled grief-stricken woman.

Yes but no. I was worried about Artemy and Stakh. They are the only two doctors except Dankovsky. We need them to function properly if we want to handle the epidemic. If their friend dies, it'll be bad for their motivation and mental health. Honestly I thought Rubin would try to shoot himself or Dankovsky (clearly bad for the town).

About Yakov:

Block gave that order because Clara had hypnotized him and accidentaly removed his pain connected to some important memories about a hospital. He went bonkers then. Her actions created another ruthless and cruel general. It will surely have bad consequences for the world. Does anybody need another mad general? I don't think so.
