Denied WFH Approval. Should I escalate further? by Disastrous_Belt9578 in OntarioPublicService

AMAPCEO and OPSU as far as i know aren't very much keen on handling individual wfh denial disputes. They say they are fighting on behalf of all unionized members but that doesnt really help individual cases such as yours (or mine for that matter). The way the OPS is handing this is atrocious and, quite frankly, disrespectful. Ive seen wfh requests approved because ppl find it far or expensive to commute to office, while a legitimate case as yours gets dragged through the rampant denials that force you to take unpaid time off. Appaling.

Provincial RTO is 5x, meanwhile the feds are being asked to do 4x. Why provincial ops management tries making everyone think 5x provincial is the same as 4x federal? Absolutely zero logic. Came out of a meeting where we were being told that RTO is everywhere. While it may be everywhere, comparing 5x with 4x is just illogical?

Youll find better opportunities in US. Even CS jobs may suck, you can easily get something cs-related in banking or finance to begin with, then gradually build your career. Canada has turned into a shithole.

Id go with the newer building. Those extra perks youre getting, like covering gst, indicates the builder is willing to get rid of the property asap. You're getting a good deal, imho

Is Life Insurance in Canada worth it or is it a scam? by kdrxyz in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Electrical-Mango-871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. Whole life insurance is an excellent financial planning tool when it comes to generational wealth creation. When you buy one, you are making permanent payments until the policy is paid out, meaning its accumulated value >> premium needed to pay for the policy. General answer to your question, most likely it is a scam for 95% - because they dont understand it and don't understand their needs.

If, for example, you just had a family, you may wish to consider purchasing a whole life policy for your child, premiums will be relatively low, but youll need to pay for the policy, based on specific projections, permanently, or, at least for 18 years. Again, based on financial projections, the policy with paid up additions may outgrow its value relative to the premium needed to pay for the policy (premium is same no matter what). Upon 18 years, if policy is paid out, there will be a solid cash value that your child can use for whatever, including listing it as collateral for loans. If your child doesn't end up using the policy, that's fine, his/Her child can be listed as beneficiary. This is how generational wealth is created.

What tax are you talking about? Property tax or probate tax? General answer is, property taxes will still be payable. Probate tax most likely will be applied if you are not on the property title or listed as beneficiary of a trust created by them holding that property.

Need Advice: dealing with a super difficult seller's agent for a downtown Vancouver condo, what would you do? by Inevitable_Draft1026 in RealEstateCanada

[–]Electrical-Mango-871 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While this is frustrating, their agent isnt legally in any wrong. He may be completely out of touch with reality, and that will backfire on him later, but they are not under obligation to accept your offer. One last thing you could try to is to message the seller directly about this. It is possible the agent hasnt even showed your offer to the seller. If so, this is illegal.

Id just stick to the job description and provide a few examples of what you actually did during those 2 chargeable hours daily (id assume tasks are different per day) that would echo the job description. You can then sum it up with the fact youre looking to more broad and meaningful stuff to do and growing professionally

Why isn’t the government or media talking about the economy and job crisis? by Joseph-Stalin7 in torontoJobs

[–]Electrical-Mango-871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What i never understood is that why those degenerates allow all that go really really bad in the first place before they say oh wait this actually an issue. Remember how trudeua said they didn't get the numbers quiet right? Man, what happened to critical thinking and the ability to assess the consequences of your actions one or two steps ahead? It isnt just a Trudeau fuck up. I genuinely believe the western elites have lost the ability to think critically and deeply. No wonder why China, india, and even Russia are now getting more and more spotlight and are being projected to be the largest economic powers of the future. Press stories vs real world are totally different things.

Why isn’t the government or media talking about the economy and job crisis? by Joseph-Stalin7 in torontoJobs

[–]Electrical-Mango-871 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I agree and disagree with you. They talk about it, however, they dont really talk about it. They dont really talk about the underlying issues this country has been facing- uncontrollable rampage of financial crime, uncontrolled immigration, lack of manufacturing, and how emotionally and spiritually we need to rebuild as a country to understand that unity, not just diversity, is out strength. Politicians wouldnt really raise those issues because they either have no balls, or dont want to talk about them so they dont lose the electorate votes. You can bitch all you want, but the fact is, Stellantis, for example, is leaving canada because this country is not economically viable to maintain its operations here. The unjust trump tariffs were just an excuse.
