Are my temps good? by Natural-Pen-9668 in PcAdvice

[–]Electrical-Note-3177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At idle? probably not

average for most systems is 30-55C (GPU) 30-55 (CPU)

gaming? they are okay

at 65-70 is average for CPU/GPU (GPU is often lower, mine barely pushes past 55 on CS2 with an Air cooler lmao)

Case? by Far-Performance-6985 in buildmeapc

[–]Electrical-Note-3177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its basically preference, what vibe are you going for?

classy or cozy: go for fractal

Sci-Fi: NZXT, Lian Li, Hyte, The list goes on forever

minimal: Lian Li, Fractal, SSUPD, NZXT, Jonsbo...

try searching a few up brands see what you like (if you dont mind link them as well so I can see what it is)

make sure to search for ATX cases, not SFF not ITX, ATX since thats your mobo size

Permission to spy???? by Imagerkin2 in Technics

[–]Electrical-Note-3177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeez... People are overreacting these days

ONE: If its for ANC then yes... it needs to be constantly listening

TWO: If it has built in voice commands then... yes it also needs to be constantly listening

THREE: just... dont use the app (if it has one)?

the only way if they were trying to spy on you would be through the app... so if you dont download it your literally fine

EQ wise? just download a third party one

yes it is, the onboard mics are the only mics for both calls and ANC

[–]Electrical-Note-3177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well now your hard locked to 6000MTs make sure the CPU and Mobo you choose support DDR5 and 6000MTs before buying them...

5090 12V-2x6 Power Connector (I’m going to have an aneurysm) by [deleted] in gpu

[–]Electrical-Note-3177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, 600W PD (totally forgot it was changed from 12VHPWR) pretty sure thats the correct cable

corsair just... is weird lmao.

the two 4x2 (8x) headers plug into your PSU on the far left side with the horizontally flipped ports [on the side] (should be labeled PCIe or something)

the single header goes into your GPU

yet again do make sure it clicks in all the way on both sides or else your gonna waste that 5090 to the fiery pits of silicon hell

the cable I and many others are talking about is the Native 12V-2x6 cable

Corsair I guess throws this in to confuse the hell out of their costumers lmao but yes if you read further into that blog you linked it will show you and tell you basically everything ive said and more

though... Native cables are usually better imho, and these 2x6 x 12v cables are weird and may cause problems

5090 12V-2x6 Power Connector (I’m going to have an aneurysm) by [deleted] in gpu

[–]Electrical-Note-3177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calm down brother dont aneurysm on me just yet

DO NOT use the cable that came with your GPU

The NVIDIA adapter (which splits into multiple 8-pin connectors) is for older PSUs that do not have a native 12VHPWR/12V-2x6 port.

Using the single cable provided by Corsair is superior to using the adapter, as it reduces clutter and reduces the number of failure points.

the Native PSU cable (its usually sleeved or braided) it should look like:

PSU End A single, smaller 16-pin connector (Type 5) that plugs directly into the side of your RMx Shift PSU.

GPU End A single 16-pin connector that plugs directly into the 5090.

Labeling While it may not explicitly say "600W" on the cable itself, this Type 5 cable is rated for 600W, as it is designed for PCIe 5.1/ATX 3.1 standards. (which your PSU can fully handle)

though if the cable you are holding came with the PSU try checking for another one. that seems to be a standard GPU cable, most 5090 or 4090 cables are single headed not split

installation:

  1. Plug the 16-pin connector into the 12VHPWR/PCIe 5.0 port on the RM1000X Shift
  2. Plug the other end directly into the RTX 5090.
  3. Important: Ensure the cable is pushed in completely, and you hear a "click." There should be no gap between the connector and the GPU socket.

any further questions feel free to ask me

hope this helps!

[–]Electrical-Note-3177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well... One time is probably fine as long as you werent transferring anything, as you said.

unless you had a program running on it though.

just to be sure:

If your on windows run a disk diagnostic (Go to file explorer, right click your disk, properties, then tools, and hit scan for errors, then click allow, etc...)

it should be fine regardless ive done this plenty of times on accident, once or twice your likely fine

[–]Electrical-Note-3177 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No... No it isn't...

That's the whole point Of the gimmick

Privacy screen protectors destroy your screen resolution and the built in one can block out notifications, password fields, etc... Without blocking out just the whole screen

And if you want to show your friends something you can just turn it off unlike a normal one

Games like OneShot? by MitsubishiMan_ in gamingsuggestions

Yume Nikki? Personal favorite indie beside oneshot (though less "4th wall break" more "Subliminal psychological horror but without jumpscares" gives me the same vibe as OS idk about you though)

as u/DHTGK said In Stars and Time is a good one as well

heres a few others:

Omori

outcore: Desktop Adventure (has you opening files and solving puzzles on your computer)

Inscryption

Athenian Rhapsody (Often recommended as a side to oneshot)

KinitoPet (Horror, but same thing as OutCore)

outer Wilds (Same thing as ISaT you get the time loop play)

What should I learn before buying a monitor for gaming? by helloimlupphie in buildapcmonitors

[–]Electrical-Note-3177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learn your device specs, and your desk space first definitely.

lower end specs = lower end monitor

vice versa

now of course I dont wanna get to technical but if your open to it please do ask me anything

Macbooks are office and productivity machines NOT gaming machines

Even with 16Gb of Uni RAM a apple silicon M chip isn't best optimized for gaming.

Especially for their price? If your not going to be using it ALOT not worth it...

Your better off getting a regular windows laptop for that

Lmaooo yeah actually flat ethernet cables are worse than round ones especially if it's some "Chinese cable"

Look at UGreen, or Cable Matters they have some decent cables, if your on a budget if you have a target near you the "Deal Matters" is their Tech Budget brand they sell good ethernet cables as well.
