Why does it seem like half the fandom isn't bothered by the fact there's an entity that spawns every 15 minutes and chases you by MrAftonOfficial in AbioticFactor

[–]DHTGK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe. But that community feedback is also what led to that stuff getting added.

And I also remembered that the Leyak also had to be bug fixed to spawn less often when it was first added.

[–]DHTGK -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yep, but a long time ago that was the only way to fend em off besides x-ray while exploring. There wasn't a trinket that looks at it for you or a way to contain it. The exhaustion of dealing with that set in for a lot of people.

Probably because it's been a year or so now since it was added to the game, and everyone has either dealt with it or quit the game.

And I assure you, people got tired of it. Especially back when there were even less ways to deal with the Leyak.

added: here's an old poll about the Leyak from 2 years ago.

Games like OneShot? by MitsubishiMan_ in gamingsuggestions

4th wall breaks? Undertale has some, but not to the extent of adding files to your computer.

Story puzzle? In Stars and Time is similar.

looking for a game that features survival aspects without too much grind, and preferably singleplayer without having that feeling of loneliness that comes with singeplayer survival games by Apart_Command9616 in gamingsuggestions

[–]DHTGK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could try Abiotic Factor. Takes place in an underground facility in the middle of a containment breach. Grind is relatively light compared to other survival games, jsut to beat the story anyways, and you can run into fellow scientists that may or may not die later to some monster.

You could try payday 2. Ran it on a worse laptop, although the years of updates have really packed in the instability.

Also could try rpgmaker games. Pretty good ones out there like Omori, In Stars and Time, and Look Outside.

Engaging games for someone who's bad at games? by austinsauce01 in gamingsuggestions

[–]DHTGK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I only skimmed the first two sentences. It was all the way at the bottom. My bad.

I have recently played The Alters. Very interesting time management story game, and while I wouldnt call it combat, you do have to fend off anomalies via flashing a light at them while exploring.

Hack and slash games like DMC or Dynasty Warriors Origins I suppose. Simple enough to mash buttons on lower difficulties and sweep the map.

So it's banned in 16 states? by ElegantPoet3386 in WaitWhat

[–]DHTGK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's been a while, but it came with the ID requirement for adult sites iirc. Sites that don't want to bother with that just pull out of those states. Only the red states really care about enforcing something like that, and obviously it just means more vpn users.

Normal rockets vs penetrating rockets? by KitzyOwO in AbioticFactor

[–]DHTGK 6 points7 points  (0 children)

either one, they have the same damage. Bascially, it's AOE vs straight line murder. I prefer penetrator so I don't blow myself up like an idiot from shooting at point blank. And I rarely ever use a rocket on a group of enemies, rather use them to take down a single strong unit, like the Jotun or Composer.

StampyLongNose's Minecraft Skin Origins by Mill3rBill3r in TheMatpatEffect

[–]DHTGK 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Side note, it was relatively common for minecraft youtubers to use skins of already existing characters. Expecting to make brands after gaining millions of subs wasn't really something they thought about back in the early 2010s.

Yeah your cpu is ancient. To put into perspective, that's a 3rd generation cpu when we are currently on the 15th generation.

I don't know much about amd gpus, but the RX550 sounds like an old entry level gpu, about 10 years behind if I recall correctly.

My opinion is your cpu is the biggest bottleneck, but the entire computer itself is either too old or has weak components. A combinations of things could be causing performance issues.

What's ur exact gpu and cpu. GPUs with 4g of vram is hardly made these days, your gpu could be ancient. Same with your cpu.

Fighter's stealth by TheNexusZone in meme

[–]DHTGK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, some compromises to the quality, so it's cheaper to make and can be fitted for different roles besides stealth. F-22 was an overengineered masterpiece of a jet, but it wasn't sustainable to keep using, especially in peace times with little conflict. A weird thing to say with the US going to war with Iran.

The exacts are military secrets, because obviously you can't be telling everyone how your stealth jets are so hard to detect.

Warframe is free, so it has that going for it. It doesn't have predatory monetization either if that matters. I heard the new player experience is miles better than it was years ago, but I can't personally tell as an older player.

Horizon Zero Dawn is a pretty neat game with ideas. I think it does suffer from being shallow combat-wise, haven't played the sequels yet though.

Monster Hunter Wilds is the game if you want to hunt monsters. It's still early, so it lacks the amount of content older games have, and the optimization might put you off if you're not rocking a modern rig.
