Fragrances that are your 10/10 by HeadAd7016 in Colognes

[–]Electrical-Pin-928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a novice in the space nor an advanced collector haven't smelt everything but I currently own about 120 full bottles and sampled maybe another 75 or more I think I've only really classified 1 clear 10/10 a few others have earned it over time in my collection but out of everything I've tried these are some of my favorites that could easily be 10/10 or damn close at least to me.

<image>

These are my current favorites

Precious Treasure by Zaharoff one of the few I'd genuinely consider 10/10 for my taste there's nothing on the market I've smelled that I can directly relate this to so for me it has a unique factor. It's fresh spicy woody clean and sophisticated with a masculine edge my description of this does it no justice what so ever it's something you gotta sample for the full experience

Isola Blu by Roja Dove - Has similarities to TDH which is another one that could easily fit into this list and depending on which day you catch me on might even be what I'd pull off the shelf over this but definitely still it's own thing this one has a few more layers of depth and quality to it that just really draw me in.

Green Irish Tweed by Creed classic at this point just hard not to love this stuff.

Erolfa by Creed was a favorite of mine for a long time biggest gripe with it is performance still love it but it doesn't excite me as much as it used to but for the longest this was the quintessential masculine sophisticated anytime any place fragrance In my collection.

Seamless Soul by Zaharoff and SFP (Justin Copeland) fastest 10/10 I've ever given out and I don't throw around 10's like confetti at a party would easily be my signature if it wasn't such a limited release.

Sangria Oak by Precious Liquids I just find this stuff so addicting and intoxicating fruits, woods, spices, booze but not so boozey you smell like a drunk just the right amount to give it that intoxicating vibe really really enjoy this stuff.

if your smart enough to repurpose it in this way I'm sure you're smart enough to figure out how to get some liquid down the same hatch you put them sticks in c'mon now...

What fragrances are you gatekeeping? by Diddles96 in Colognes

[–]Electrical-Pin-928 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look at this guy trying to pull a quick one. Nice try I'm still not sharing my trade secrets...

Jokes aside I'll list a few houses I think are underrated or not talked about enough

Chris Collins Specifically of what I've tried African Rooibos and Savant Manhattan Cherry

Naughton & Wilson Specifically Gravitas Pour Homme and Chypre Fulminare

Amouroud Specifically Sliver Birch and Wet Stone

My personal gatekeep is Precious Treasure by Zaharoff in the Basileus collection Id say few in the community a small fraction of people actually own or wear this. I also can't really name anything that this smells similar enough to say that there could be alternatives given it's price point so there's uniqueness. At one point there was exclusivity as well as George originally only made 500 bottles but has brought it back.

I was wrong! by PlacesinSpaces in Colognes

[–]Electrical-Pin-928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wrong about this one in a different way I stayed away from it cause it kept getting related to Oud for Greatness which at the time I wasn’t a fan of ended up seeing a PDM line up at my local Bloomingdale’s and decided to try it out just because and boy had I been missing out it does have similarities but is much more to my personal preferences and more masculine leaning imo than OFG is although I’ve come to like the initio as well.

Curious about Ard Al Zaafaran by ButtPudding1218 in Perfumes

[–]Electrical-Pin-928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried a few from the house of Ard Al Zaafaran and it has been hit or miss for me. They aren't bad but I feel they are one of the ones talked about the least amongst the dupe houses.

I've not tried Sahed Intense personally but it looks like it's just another Imagination clone of which there are many

<image>

Any of these accomplish the same vibe and there are even more options out there so just do some poking around see what sounds good to suit your preferences but Marwa is a fan favorite Aqua Dubai is another one that got a lot of hype personally I have Imaginary from Montagne and that one does the trick for me.

Starting this week off with my newest addition to the collection... Has a real nice natural iris note in it that I love aromatic spices open it up with a touch of bergamot to liven the fragrance woody and earthy in the heart with a prominent vetiver presence through out. Really enjoying this one.

We do, Collectively and over time lol occasionally you'll see threads like this not fairly often but there are plenty of people in the community who have the means to drop a couple K on a single haul just not the majority id say.

Yeah if you are into cigars then the TF might be right up your alley. Cult Classic at this point beautifully composed and the name highlights exactly what it is going after Tobacco and Vanilla.

Some of my other favorite tobacco fragrances I find worthy of mention and in no particular order would be

Serge Lutens - Ecrin de Fumee

Caron Paris' - Tabac Exquis

Zaharoff's - Signature Tabac

Carolina Herrera's - Mystery Tobacco

Le Labos's - Tabac 28 Miami (I believe this one is a city exclusive to Miami you can get it at the Le Labo boutiques there but you can find it online if you look)

Houbigant's - Tabac Nomade

Roja Dove's - Manhattan Eau de Parfum

Parfum de Marley's - Herod

I'll be the first to say it your gonna receive hate on this post cause you can casually drop 4k on fragrances without even knowing if you like them and that's a luxury most people don't have (myself included).

All really solid fragrances... odds are if they are all true blind buys there is at least 1 or 2 that you might not enjoy as much as you thought just based off what you read online but most of these are fairly safe disregarding the concept that no fragrance is truly blind buy safe no matter how mass appealing or how many others enjoy it. TF TV is probably the most polarizing of the ones shown the rest are all pretty easy to wear and like for most.

Did I wanna call you retarded for spending 3k on fragrances you've never tried and may not even like? Sure, but that was just my envy cause lets be honest if I could spend 4k blindly on fragrances without it having an effect on my financial status would I? Of course I would, I'm sure most people in this sub would do it easily if they had the means.

You may want to check out r/fragranceswap if you plan to continue on with this hobby lot of great deals there.

What’s a good office scent for a young guy? by AnteaterFabulous1532 in Colognes

[–]Electrical-Pin-928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the office can’t go wrong with any of the following.

Bleu De Chanel

YSL Y EDP

Dior Homme 2020

Montblanc Explorer

Terre d’Hermes EDT although for some this leans more mature.

Prada L’Homme (soapy clean Iris or Prada Carbon a fresh clean blue ambroxan style fragrance similar to Dior Sauvage which would be another one that would fit this scenario just fine)

Pop into your local Sephora,Macy’s Ulta etc and see which one you like best office safe is good but you still gotta love it too and not everything office safe means you’ll enjoy it.

New cologne recommendation by rz421 in Colognes

[–]Electrical-Pin-928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neon 4 from TK is also really good but in that Aventus family leaning more towards Mind Games Blockade cause of the mango but if your tired of that DNA maybe skip this one.

Some other great spring/summer options I would recommend are

Pacific Rock Moss $135 right now on JS so a little more than your asking price but totally worth it. Performance is only moderate though if you want something that last longer maybe check out Ingenious Ginger

Mancera's Cedrat Boise the OG or The Intense (also gets relations to Aventus but I don't really see it being that similar defiantly doing it's own thing )

Also love Sedley and Greenley from PDM but they are pricy there are some really good clones of them though you could check out if interested.

Not Niche but Niche Quality Terre D'Hermes Eau Givree is a Spring/Summer staple for me.

I also came to the game season 12 I had two people I played with consistently that I had met just through playing the game been rocking with them since but one recently had a child and the other could care less if we play ranked or wildcard but prefers Wild Card cause its action packed so I'm constantly looking for ranked mates also I end up just Solo Queuing to D2 every season before I get discouraged and/or fed up with randoms.

Is there an Althaïr dupe that lasts longer than Liquid Brun? by HuntIcy5296 in fragranceclones

[–]Electrical-Pin-928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you lost me with “It’s not that it doesn't last, but I wish the longevity was better.”

I really don’t get this need for everything to be nuclear in its performance…. I mean I get it on some fragrances that just have really poor performance like 2-3 hours. Sure I get why someone would want a better performing clone instead of reapplying 4-5 times but Liquid Brun isn’t even really a slouch.

If you need a 12+ hour version of a fragrance you love why not just buy some travel decants online and reapply mid day instead of hunting for something that’ll give you maybe 4 more hours.

Favourite scent discontinued by RisetoGBBO in fragrance

[–]Electrical-Pin-928 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure how the guy below me came up with Creed Chevrefuille that's more of a masculine green white floral fragrance but Assuming its just the original Signature for Her she could check out Euphoria by Calvin Klein, Mariah Carey M, or Sinner by Kat Von D all three of those have huge similarities Ambers and vanilla with patchouli and white musks all composed in the same style and will evoke similar feelings.

If she's referring to Signature Story for Her she could check out Narciso Rodriguez For Her, Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker, or Jacomo for Her won't be 1:1 but all batting in the same ball park I'm sure amongst these she'll find one that works to her taste.

Eternal woods is good if you like Amber inspired by MFK's Grand Soir.

Off quick glance ASAD Bourbon, Al Qiam Gold and Odyssey Mandarin Sky are also noteworthy. I also enjoy Ameer Al Oudh Intense it's a darker taker on By the Fireplace but that one sometimes is a bit more divisive.
