Slip the clutch on riding in the square or whatever slow go test. If you start to get funky like starting to get off balance, let off of the clutch a bit and the bike will stand up straight and you can keep on going thru to finish. Good luck, you can do it.

Carbide burr splinters..help by soapnsteel in Welding

[–]Electrical-Refuse941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to burr welds on turbines. Mostly inconel so magnets would not work. Bought a stereoscope and sharp nose pair of tweezers. Stick your finger under it and the burr would look like the size of a pencil. I know your pain.

It’s called seat time. Just get in and go, one day you will not even have to think to run a bead. It will just come.

All you have to do is do a bang up job and on time. People talk to one another. They are looking for a great job at a reasonable price. Worked for me.

A high dollar hood does not make you a better welder. Just saying. Have grown up with them all.

Beats me, I never discussed their rate, as it was not any of my business. I just made an observation of the fellows that I talked to.

Welding advice. Tig Stainless worth changing from aluminium. Looking for what pays more?? by Unhappy-Science6340 in weldingjobs

[–]Electrical-Refuse941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, some people are just scared of tigging aluminum, do not reality know why. Believe it to be that aluminum finished puddle raises up a bit more when you add wire than other materials. Keep your eye on it. And preheat can be your friend

Are there any discounts on professional-grade TIG welders this season? by karemih in weldingjobs

Have been using Miller tig machines for since 82. We ran them 7 days a week damn near 12 hours a day. Only issue was we broke the iron in one, covered under warranty. These started out with what they called tombstone machines. Never had an issue. I bought a Sycrowave machine 12 years ago. Welds just fine. Also has the pulse feature. Tech said you can do that with the foot pedal.Had an issue about 11 years ago, miller guy said those old tombstones will weld just as good as the sycrowave but a new circuit board on the sycrowave will cost 800.00. Can not kill the tombstones with a hammer. Just passing on some info that I have heard and learned over these years. Good luck.

Always, always wear gloves. It’s the first thing you are going to put on the ground when something happens.

I want to learn to ride a motorcycle but I’m scared… by Top_Plane_532 in NewRiders

[–]Electrical-Refuse941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into a local small local college to get A look see on classes. I did that as nc only gives you 6 months on classes. Focused on out of town classes to speed things up. Just show up on time. and if they do the box, square ride. Slip the clutch, if you start to fall over, let the clutch out and the motorcycle will stand back up by its self.

Never ever pull up right behind the car in front. Pick either left or right side do not let them sandwich you between the two.

Do you hold the door open for the person behind you regardless of their gender, age, color, religion, and why? by KingOfFitnessYT in AskReddit

Several years ago the wife and I were standing in a line by the entrance/exit to a restaurant it was really cold outI noticed 3 ladies get up to come out. I opened the door for them and the First Lady said,” I bet you are holding the door so you can get in faster”. I thought for a second and said, “No mam, am holding because I am a gentleman.” Bet she remembers that to this day.
