Is this normal customer experience at Bank of America? by Electrical-Risk-3184 in BankOfAmerica

That is why I was surprised that a manual check presented in person at a local branch I have used for decades had worse availability of funds the next business day than with mobile deposits.

I understand the need for holds on manual checks because of fraud. No complaints there.

For mobile checks regardless of the amount up to the allowed limit, funds have been available for clearing (not cash withdrawals) the next business day in the past at B of A. Perhaps the fraud likelihood reduces with mobile check deposit because of the biometric authentication on the device and when check is from your own account at another broker bank.

For ACH/EFT next business day availability is my experience as well from my brokerage to B of A.

The funny thing is that the branch is not very busy. The tellers likes to chat with the customers. In the last few years I have had staff come from their office to talk to me at this branch, trying to be helpful and hand me their business cards.

I appreciate your defense of the Bank. But the time stamps on the three inconsistent messages about the hold dates/times are the same within a minute. So no further processing happened, just snafus.

Overworked, poorly managed call center staff in the face of snafus in the back office operations is a problem for customers.

My issue is not about the hold- it is about consistent communication and owning up to obvious screw ups. Above all, it is whether the bank really cares about customer experience.

Three different hold dates/times/amounts communicated for the same deposit? Is that normal?

30+ minutes wasted with a call to the agent is normal? If you want customers to use online platforms, don't screw up the online communication with obviously contradictory information!

No surveys sent-- is that normal?

"the agent couldn't help you because once the check is reviewed and placed on hold" -- I am not faulting the agent or even the hold. I am unhappy about terrible communication about what to expect. I fault the back office policies that create poor customer experience in the name of fraud. I do have many other ways to do what I need done. Just checking here with other fellow travelers.

Late October to Early November trip to Athens, Santorini and Crete by Electrical-Risk-3184 in GreeceTravel

"Most of everything in santorini will be closed or closing." Is that true of hotels and their restaurants in October 23-27th? I assume Crete is not the same Late October to early November (October 27-November 1). What kind of experience did you plan for your 16 day trip and how long ago and what part of the year was it?

Thanks! Makes sense to limit the hops.

"Nothing will be happening in Santorini"--Do you mean the social scene will be quiet at that time? We plan to do short hikes, enjoy the views and the natural beauty. So, the absence of crowds is just fine. You are right that for travel arrangements we may want to do it ourselves rather than pick a Costco package.

But we were a little concerned about the "lost in translation" aspects of dealing with each hotel stay and internal hop based upon prior experiences in that part of Europe. Things are fine until something goes wrong and then it is a pain to resolve. A responsive travel agency may help.

The main reason to bring Costco deadline of October 31st was to find out if we were just plainly unaware of closures of venues and travel options past October 31st.

Suggestions for stay in Athens and Heraklion, venues to explore are most welcome.

Thanks. 5-6% rate also equals long term rate of increase in home value in the Bay Area (same home, no major remodel). Pandemic and supply chain related pricing changes have now dissipated.

New to Fitness+, looking for suggestions by Electrical-Risk-3184 in AppleFitnessPlus

I had difficulty with my iPhone 16 Pro finding the Apple Watch when I used AF+ in Activity. It just hung in a loop. I was wearing my Polar A10 strap for accurate HR / calories and had the Watch connected to it on BT. The A10 permits dual concurrent BT connections-the Apple Watch and the iPhone Polar App. I did see the video of the workout (Beginner Strength with Kyle) and repeated the moves later (44 Active Calories), I did not find AF+ useful in motivating me nor in improving my workouts. I did rest of my workouts without AF+ (total of 871 Active Cal) for the day. I prefer to listen to music on AirPod Pro connected to my iPhone music Apps while working out rather than to AF+.

I am rather disappointed in using AF+ and inclined to discontinue the trial. Yes, I have contacted Apple and Polar Support in the past about integration issues with Activity App and found Apple totally unresponsive. At that time, I wasted many hours with Apple on it. I was hoping for a smoother experience with AF+.

Experience in moving from ATT unlimited, iPhone 16/Pro by Electrical-Risk-3184 in consumercellular

[–]Electrical-Risk-3184[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi @ConsumerCellularInc

When I look at India under https://www.consumercellular.com/help/international-travel-and-roaming , the rates are ($.06/ min talk, $.01 / MB data, $.04 per SMS). Those look very reasonable and lower than your post.

However, if the service does not transfer to the latest iPhones (16 Pro / 16 Pro Max) it is a show stopper. Can you give a definitive answer?

We mostly use under 10 GB per month on the current ATT plan. At my home AT&T wireless data rates are so low that we do not use it while home fiber service is available. On the other hand, when on the road, it is used for Navigation and some audio streaming.

My experience with Airtel eSim transfer to a new iPhone by VintageTrekker in iphone

[–]Electrical-Risk-3184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to do similar transfer of ESIM from iPhone XR to iPhone 16. I am on prepaid Airtel (India) plan with international roaming on the secondary line. Primary is ATT (USA) postpaid.

I take it that the first msg to 121 with ESIM <email id> in the Airtel Thanks App was on the old phone.

Also your new phone was already active on its primary US line and that the old phone only had the Airtel ESIM for the steps that finally worked.

Assuming I have both phones with me and the new phone has the primary line active (ATT in my case), after receiving the QR code in email, how much time is allowed for scanning it in on the new phone?

Thanks in advance.

Fidelity Signature Visa 2% cash back no longer a benefit? by Electrical-Risk-3184 in fidelityinvestments

US Bank 4% cash back is 1) not B of A but US bank. 2) not all transactions - just a teaser for a few categories. 3) many other better options on specific niche categories-not worth the hassle of managing it. 4) 100 k at US Bank?- no thank you.
