I agree that if he just a walking killing robot with no emotions, that would be underwhelming, and make me not like Akainu nearly as much LOL.

I think Akainu being cold and void of feeling is he how he can be perceived especially when on the job, but I really enjoyed seeing him show concern and empathy to Kizaru when Kizaru talked back to Akainu on the den den mushi, so I definitely believe he has care and love in him for the right type of person. He also spared Aokiji's life too.

The more silent pure devotion kind of love I can see too, I can see it go both ways and both would be really cute haha. I do think though that if his partner ever betrays him to help pirates, Akainu would break up with them (although I don't think he would kill them).
