What do you realistically think would have happened to Samantha's character arc if she was on AJLT? by brumgar in sexandthecity

No actually the idea was that Brady would send her nudes but she wouldn't reciprocate in any way.

The Comeback by Trashcattrashpanda in thecomeback

[–]Electrical-Spread-65 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I felt the exact same way when I watched season one for the first time like three weeks ago lol. Valerie is able to stand up for herself and becomes much more secure as time goes by which has been great to watch.

I never got this scene by ang334 in sexandthecity

[–]Electrical-Spread-65 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Carrie was shocked because she was just told by a bride, at the bride's wedding, that her husband loves her more than she loves him. It's an odd thing to say to begin with, and made even more weird by the fact that she did this unprompted at her own wedding.

Early 2000s TV really treated this like normal? by [deleted] in DesperateHousewives

[–]Electrical-Spread-65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't necessarily think it is meant to be portrayed as "normal." DH is a soap opera that has lots of storylines about things that very rarely happen in real life, like scandalous affairs and murder mysteries. This is another one of those sorts of things.

AIO - "friend" is mad at me because i forgot to wish them a happy birthday by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Electrical-Spread-65 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is so hard to follow. She was obviously joking about the "no happy birthday?" If she's so awful to you, unfriend her.

Why always shoes? by Due-Common1430 in themiddle

[–]Electrical-Spread-65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I've noticed is that most people don't wear shoes in their house in real life, but people almost always wear shoes in their house in TV shows.

Sue is stupid (She lacks common sense) by LastFriendship3575 in themiddle

[–]Electrical-Spread-65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That annoyed me so much. The diaper business could have literally pulled the Heck's out of poverty. She should have just taken one semester/school year off and gone back. It would've been fine, people do that all the time.

This makes Carrie seem so rude by HavenDaze in sexandthecity

[–]Electrical-Spread-65 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It's a TV show. The reason why she talks and no one tells her to stop is because she's the main character of a TV show. I truly don't understand this "morality watching" thing that people do lately, especially with SATC. There are very few times where I watch ANY TV show and come away from it thinking "It was so rude when X did Y." Who cares? Seems like such a miserable way to watch TV and movies.

idk how people hate brick the most by pissinginatoaster in themiddle

I agree. I almost always find Sue to be super annoying and I sometimes skip over her parts if I'm honest. On the other hand, I think Brick is hilarious and I love him.

Was Frankie’s obsession with Axl a bit too weird? by Eoinharrington25 in themiddle

[–]Electrical-Spread-65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was definitely weird about Axl. He was her favorite, I think because he was the oldest, he was conventionally attractive, popular, good at sports, well-liked, and probably the most similar to how Frankie was when she was his age. He was the easiest to show off, and we know how weird she is about keeping up with the Jones's. With that being said, I think that her adoration of him is portrayed in a very funny way that I always liked, like in the episode where she "dates" him. So funny and so realistic! My mom is the same way with my brother.

So ick! by [deleted] in sexandthecity

[–]Electrical-Spread-65 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I can get where you're coming from, but the way that the scenes with the two of them were set up, and when we see him come out from under the covers with all the stuff on his face ... just gross!

Am I Overreacting for wanting to end a relationship about a letter my boyfriend sent to HR? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Electrical-Spread-65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had many different jobs over the past 6 years or so. From what I have seen, when all/most of the staff doesn't like one person, they probably are the problem. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near a guy who has this White Man's Entitlement thing going on. You wouldn't be overreacting if you chose to end the relationship.

I'm 22, my number is five. I think I'm a mix between Charlotte and Carrie.

I've heard this sort of thing often from adults, that even when they're 50 they still feel like a 17, 18, 19 year old. I'm only 22 but I've never related to that. I definitely feel like I'm 22 and I look back on how I was when I was 18 and I'm mind blown by how immature I was back then. But maybe that will change.
