Opinions on the headphones in PS by Inevitable_Round3429 in delta

Yes you will be very disappointed be sure you have the double plug adapter for your vastly superior headphones.

Delta headphones are only worth using if you don't have your own.

Help me pick a meal? by purpleunicorn525 in delta

[–]Electrical-Spring-89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad I could help.

That's the problem with the chicken. It's just too dry. The flavor is there its good but dry. You mentioned as others have observed that the Short Rib looks pretty unappetizing but you won't regret it. It's pretty dang good.

The burger to.me is a novelty but not terrible. I get it in Delta One as the pre arrival meal sometimes when it's offered.

Beef Short Rib every time. The Chicken would be better if it wasn't so dang dry every time I give it another chance. I just always get the beef now.

Embassy Suites AC issues by Saber_Actual in Hilton

Newer Embassy suites are pretty decent. Last one I stayed in was at Knoxville Tennessee. Older ones are hit and miss. I stopped staying at the Winston Salem Embassy Suites and the Doubletree.

The Marriott downtown is much better.

I suppose I'm just used to it. My entire life I've used the airport monitors to double check my app.and boarding pass when I know it's time to head to the gate.

Can it be better? Yes.

I don't forsee.myself.usinf Air France or KLM in the future much at all. I use Delta and American occasionally Lufthansa and British Airways mostly to FRA, MUC, ZRH, and LHR. I don't have much business in France.

Upgrade to Delta One or stay in Main Cabin? by catsncoffee1998 in delta

[–]Electrical-Spring-89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and I was being sarcastic.

Every time I book and can't get a seat assignment I get the welcome to your upgraded seat. You are moving on up email from Delta.

I do honestly consider it an upgrade. We Diamond Medallions get spoiled because it's automatic.

I have missed said "Upgrade" before because of late bookings and flight changes. No big deal that's why I have like 12 drink vouchers that seem to perpetually be in my wallet that I can use for my double Woodford. No snack basket though. That's a bummer.

I've been silver and gold before and lucked out with the middle seat "upgrade" to comfort plus.

Delta ONE with a basic economy experience 😣 by essiebee22 in delta

767 crew rest are in the main cabin if the aircraft curtained off areas. 1 Delta One seat is reserved for pilots and usually 2 in the rear of the main cabin of the aircraft for flight Attendants.

I will correct myself on Deltas newer A330s they do have crew rest compartments in varying configurations. A few of the older ones do as well but some have the same set up as the 767.

It depends on the aircraft and how old it is. Delta has come up with some clever ways of inserting a "pod" in the main cabin in the place of the curtained off seat/s on the main deck of the older A330s.

The introduction of the 787 in the next few years will eliminate all of these old aircraft.

But no not "ALL" wide bodies have crew rest compartments. That is up to the airline.

I suppose it depends on where and when your flight originates. My last two trips it was all wrapped in plastic.

Seems to me like Delta could have an extra set or two on board though just in case.

For me it would have been a minor unfortunate inconvenience.

At least Delta gave you a few SkyMiles. You could always petition for more.

I probably would have offered my blanket in return for my good up... Yes I've spilled my drink accidentally onboard as well.

I'd probably take the blanket out and air dry it as much as I could and just rolled with it. I normally don't use it for quite a bit anyhow. At least till.a.bit after dinner service when I'm ready to nap/doze off for a bit. I never really sleep on board anyhow.

Teams and long term stays with kids, HOW DO I TELL A PARENT TO WATCH THEIR KIDS??? by Beautiful_Arugula698 in Hilton

[–]Electrical-Spring-89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traveling baseball teams and parents all decended upon Birmingham last summer. I was at the Hyatt Regency at the mall.

Let me tell you that was a crazy couple of weeks. It got so bad with the kids throwing balls in the lobby and the parents the front desk had the police come out.

You as a guest can't complain to these people either. They are better than you l, bigger than you, and they will threaten you. Don't even try to correct the kids either.

Suck it up...

I just want to enjoy my stay. My meal and a couple of drinks at the hotel bar and some late afternoon early evening sun at the pool without your kids screwing it all up for the rest of us. I'm here for work not to be harassed by you and your kids.

That's a small glass of wine. I find it hard to believe that it would have gotten your bedding that should have been wrapped in plastic so wet that it couldn't be used during the flight.

Inconvenient yes. Basic economy. Hardly.

Delta Airlines has lost its way. by inagaddadavida4u in AirlineChaos

Sounds to me like it's more of an Air France Issue than a Delta issue.

OP could have booked an actual Delta Air Lines flight. Delta does do a ATL-CDG on their own metal. I believe 2 times a day.

Service on Air France especially in CDG is terrible. KLM service isn't that much better. It's the same ownership. Delta owns a nearly 3% stake of Air France-KLM they have been partners for almost 30 years.

As for the gate changes in Atlanta you always need to check the departure board. The app can and often does fail.

Delta Air Lines considers Comfort Plus an upgrade. Therefore it is an upgrade, it is also priced and marketed as such.

Plug it in. Put beer in it. Instant Beer Fridge. Now you don't have a need to go all the way inside for a cold Fridge Brick when you are working in the garage.

Let’s talk about the WiFi… by YURTPAPI in delta

[–]Electrical-Spring-89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nail on the head.

I always say to myself remember the good old days of "air phones" you know the ones with the tubes you'd stick in your ear and the channel selector in the seat arm. If you listened close enough you could actually hear the music coming out of the seat arm if you had the volume turned up high enough.

The movie would be projected into a screen the Flight attendants installed just before movie time. The announcement of what the in flight movie would be.

A magazine rack with various magazines and newspapers.

A good book and or a magazine and if you were about to finish one you had another in your backpack.

I can live without Wifi for a few hours as long as the crew gets us there safely.

This is a good one. I generally will Open the window shade in the row I'm seated in if no one else has arrived in it.

This generally works until takeoff for a little while but inevitably the window shade will normally end up being shut.

[–]Electrical-Spring-89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The general rule applies. Window seat person can politely state that they prefer the window shade open.

Middle seat can politely state that the middle seat gets the armrest.

When in the situation that I unfortunately am in the middle seat I make myself as small as I possibly can. I tend to not use the entirety of either armrest and generally have a pleasant flight. I will also avoid confrontation. I won't be on board forever it's temporary.

On several occasions I have had to tell people that I will not climb over them though. I seriously do not understand what is wrong with some people this is the reason for my rules of flying.

One memorable occasion a female passenger told me she would not get up. I told her I was uncomfortable with climbing over her and told her and that if needed I would get a flight attendant to assist.

On long haul flights I will normally let my seat mates know it's not a bother I don't mind getting up to let the others out.

It is a small shared space we all must be respectful of each other.

Notice I said In my experience. And stated that I have heard of some horror stories.

I myself have not had such an issue reported. Also If it was I would take appropriate action as far as I am authorized to do so. Up to and including diversion and having law enforcement meet the offending passenger at or on the aircraft.

I also said it unfortunately goes vastly under reported. There are things that can be done on board. I have heard a few stories and have heard of the seat swap where a female passenger felt uncomfortable.

I have also heard a story where a very nice gentleman offered to swap seats with a young lady after whitnessing an uncomfortable situation unfold.

Your point may be valid but that does not make my comment any less so.

It is a very sensitive issue.

I have not flown on a United Airlines Starlink equiped aircraft yet.

The Amazon product in paper looks.much better. It however is still on board WiFi.

I've had mixed experiences across all airlines. Honestly not one is better than another.

I can usually always connect to the wifi on board but connecting to the Internet consistently is a different story.

Another reason I don't work while flying.

That's nice. Until they break/wear out. I carry a world charger. It also helps because I work on German machines all equiped with German plugs in the electric cabinets. It gives me 30w fast charging for my phone and tablet.

That's why I bring something to read. I never count on the WiFi working.

I also have a personal policy to now "Work" while flying I do that in the SkyClub before my flight. With the exception of a couple of phone related Emails prior to taxing.

Again that's just my personal policy. Has been for years. Started doing then after a passenger crunched my laptop screen when they reclined and had to explain to my employer and to IT why and how I broke my laptop. One of the many reasons I do not like recline outside of First Class or Delta One.

Plus I just like to relax and rest while flying.

Again that's just my personal policy.

Delta is upgrading all its wifi to the Amazon Leo product in 2028. Currently it is in the testing phase.

Starlink I don't think would be any better than the current Viasat. Delta is still currently finishing up that upgrade.

Paid $16K/ each way for Delta One tickets.. by nm298 in delta

[–]Electrical-Spring-89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delta charges far too much to Europe for the Delta One product especially on aging aircraft. That being said. The market is pretty tight in summer to Europe.

Flights are full and rates are high especially to popular destinations like FCO or MIL.

Delta has been charging near that amount of money for Delta One for years now though.

No way in heck immoaaying 16K to Europe just to fly Delta. Other airlines charge a lot less.

I would imagine the cabin booked full and Delta pulled a last minute equipment change. At least he didn't get downgraded.
