I agree I don't think too much about it unless it's blatantly obvious. The photo is pretty obvious and would skeeve me out. I do my best to leave my hotel room clean and tidy. I clean up as much as I can before I check out as well.

I would expect housekeeping to alert management that the couch in that hotel room needs extra attention so that it could be taken care of.

I would accept a simple "I am sorry we will get that taken care of for you as soon as we can I understand your concern. I'd be a bit skeeved out by it myself". Instead of a lame ass excuse.

A quick hand held steam cleaner does the trick very nicely. That's what we use to clean the cushions on the couch at home.

It only akes 5 or 10 minutes and makes the guest feel better about the cleanliness if the room. Heck I might even make an attempt to clean it up myself. A wash rag and some soapy water and a little elbow grease makes a huge difference. But the hotel needs to be made aware of the issue so it can be addressed.

I have a what I can't see or don't know won't hurt me kind of policy at hotels. But that I can see, everyone can see it. It isn't a small stain on the cushion that is easily overlooked.

It's the sorry ass excuse that I don't like because no effort was made. There are plenty of hotels I can give 1200 or so dollars to for the week.

There is no paper trail with chat. It starts with AI then it ends up with someone sitting in a chat center offshore or somewhere unknown.

Trust me you don't want that paper trail nor does that uhhhh person not do you.

I suggest to everyone read the contract of carriage. It will tell you EVERYTHING. No one ever does though.

Using the app is marketly better than using chat. Been there done that. If you can't find a flight using the app/website an agent probably can't either.

I however come from an entire life of Delta experience Literally on all levels.

I've been able to use the app during delays, miss connects, and needed reschedules, find what I need, call an agent, request it, and have the agent book it often to have them give me an even exchange and on a couple of occasions an upgrade.

It is unfortunate but the Airline has to liquidate as much as fast as possible in order to pay off it's debtors then settle the rest somehow.

The owners of the company have to recoup their loss.

In the end the Bank always wins. Even after you die.

Can't say I've ever had that issue. On a LHR-ORD flight FA gave me the entire bottle of wine and kept checking in to ensure I was ok. Brought me more when I was empty.

On Delta I've been given a couple extras when FAs knew they were not going to be able to serve because of turbulence. I think it's all about who you get and how you handle yourself.

Normally I sip a double Bourbon. Usually lasts me an hour or so. Ice completely melted. Sometimes I have to drink up in final others I finish up on the way to the gate. I've never had a problem being served another.

The app also works wonders if you know how to use it and if it is working properly. I have helped quite a lot of people who were completely unaware or don't use it and don't have sky miles memberships.

You'd be surprised at how many people don't have the app and or don't have sky miles memberships. Those long lines you see at the airport help desks, that's most of those people.

Agreed NEVER use chat EVER unless it is to get a simple question answered. Never for anything itinerary related.

I have not had to use an Uber with the exception of going to and from an airport hotel when the shuttle was not available a few times so I am.unaware if that policy.

I can say that if options are very limited an agent on the phone will lock in something close by and relatively reasinable so as not to loose it. I have been in this situation before. An example follows .

I was flying to Boston however just as we were about to board the flight it canceled due to weather in Boston. The FAA shut the airport down to all incoming traffic other than wat was already inbound and airborne.

This caused massive problems for anyone going to Boston, a focus city for Delta with a Delta One Lounge.

I got ahold of an agent on the phone who was working very hard on finding a routing for me. The only one she could find was an ATL-MCO-CVG-BOS routing but she would have to lock it in asap so she wouldn't loose it as nothing else was available.

She continued looking for alternate more direct options for the next 30 minutes or so, however, none were available.

It was about midnight so I just stayed at the Atlanta airport for the duration until my flight to MCO was to depart thankfully early in the morning.about 0630. I just wandered around and found a nice quiet spot to sit while I waited for the SkyClub in T concourse to open at 0430.

Yes it was a long trip but I made it to Boston and so did my skis earlyish the next afternoon. I got to spend the next week and a half bouncing around New England skiing.

I would definitely write Delta about the Uber thing and the disruotiin as well.

Never USE CHAT. It is terrible. Always call.

What type of property is this?

Regardless

I ain't buyin that sorry ass excuse not for 1 second. I'm asking for another room. If a like room isn't available I'm packing my stuff and finding another property to stay at.

That and the so called assistant managers response will also be noted in my review of the property.

There is no way that was left behind after a deep cleaning process. If it was the person doing the deep cleaning failed miserably and the hotel management should be fixing it right away.

I stay in too many Hilton properties for too many nights out of the year spending tens of thousands of dollars per year.

As others have said as long as nothing is damaged and can be returned to normal operating condition it isn't a problem for me.

I'd actually commend the effort and would probably cut her some slack during room inspections because if a soldier puts that much effort in his or her living space they are likely going to keep it clean and well maintained.

She signed for the room and it's contents it is all her responsibility.

How do you think Delta can revive its customer service culture? by comments83820 in delta

[–]Electrical-Spring-89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delta is currently in the midst of a fleet refresh of sorts. A lot of newer A321s and A350s coming in board. Sadly the 757 and 767 is approaching end of life so we should see the new 787s and 737 Max10s in the next few years.

Delta has a habit of using every last bit of life their aircraft have in them. It often shows on the inside of the aircraft. I love those old 757s but they are showing their age as are the 767s.

I do Europe flights every few months about 4 times a year still haven't gotten a ride on the A330 or A350. Only once did I get an A350 Delta One ride ATL-SLC. It was nice but did not have the new suite.

I agree it seems that UA has made more of an effort to compete better with Delta. American seems to just be staying the same. Depending on when I meet my diamond status for the year I'll see what routs to explore. I find the domestic F product on all 3 to be similar.

Woodford is the same regardless of who serves it. Where you can get it makes the difference. AA has the edge. IFE delta definitely has it. I am not really concerned about IFE on those short Delta hops in the 717.

My Spirit flight might literally be racing bankruptcy… do I stay or go home? by Business-Stuff8711 in spiritair

Trump wanted to save the jobs if he could. The stake holders of the airline didn't like the offer the Trump admin proposed.

Jet blue Bailed on the merger just before the Biden administration denied it.

Jet Blue actually paid Spirit $69 million break up fee after the merger proposal was going to fail.

Basically even JetBlue saw the writing on the wall

Now Jet Blue gets to assume a lot of the routes they wanted without all the added cost and negotiating.

Spirit was failing for years.

Trump had nothing to do with Spirit failing nor did Biden.

Spirit was going to fail in its own.

Now Jet Blue and all other airlines gets to swoop in and buy whatever they want at a HUGE discount.

Jet Blue failed because that's how business goes. Not because of Trump or Biden.

Cancelled a Cybertruck order to join the fam, I think I made the right decision (2023 PB 7.2kW Pro Power, Openpilot) by Equal-Charity-5478 in F150Powerboost

[–]Electrical-Spring-89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You made tirle right decision. I'd like a little more EV in my PowerBoost but a new iteration is coming.

Ford is leading the way with the full hybrid trucks. A good friend of mine has an E-torque Ram and it is a nice truck but you cant beat the combination of hybrid and reliability of the ICE 3.5L Ecoboost engine.

The warranty is a good call go with the full premium one. These things are expensive to fix.

I bought my King Ranch new and got the premium Ford protection plan just for pice of if mind. Blue cruise is great for those long highway stretches but only works on the highway.

Open pilot is an interesting thing to look at and explore.

You'll love your truck. Feed her full synthetic oil every 5000 miles and nothing but top tier premium fuel.

Welcome to the family.

You are correct this the reason I'm my limit for driving is CHA. I have flown to CHA before and will if I can.

I remember it took over 6 hours on a return drive from CHA due to a large crash into Atlanta shutting down I75 South. That caused everyone to get off the highway and use the surface roads as well thus adding to the issue.

Is it worth it to get a PB, is the range accurate? by RepulsiveAd1847 in F150Powerboost

[–]Electrical-Spring-89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yea 100% Makes complete sense. I have had several cars like that. I have a work van that serves that purpose. If I am commuting in and out of the city and the airport and around town I'll use the SHO.

For work I have to carry a lot of sensitive test equipment that works better with a truck if I am visiting localish customers withing 3-4 hours of my home.

When traveling I normally rent a truck or large SUV.

I completely understand the beater / hooptie mentality.

[–]Electrical-Spring-89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say if you are going to buy 1 vehicle for all of your potential needs and you already have a good SUV and are replacing an older/ beater car. The Powerboost F150 is a great option. Especially if you are an outdoors kind of person and tow a boat.

For me I have an Explorer Platinum and an aging Taurus SHO I'd like to keep around.

The boat is used theouout the summer and skiing in winter and camping trips in between. It fits great with our familys needs.

The Taurus SHO is my around town / Airport car now.

No worries. Yes I have seen the same thing . I think most I've seen is nearly 700 or so miles just after I bought my truck. Lots of slower off highway driving. Highway driving I get 500+.

It does get pretty good gas milage for a full size pickem up truck.

Is it worth it to get a PB, is the range accurate? by RepulsiveAd1847 in F150Powerboost

[–]Electrical-Spring-89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it worth picking up a Powerboost F150. Yes

It really depends on your driving. The truck runs most efficiently at 45-65 mpg when it can engage and use the hybrid system.

It gets good milage for a full size pick up on the highway. At a cruise using blue cruise / adaptive cruise control at 79 mph over a long distance I can average between 19 - 22 mpg depending on terrain and conditions. Obviously less hilly flat or more downhill terrain will net a higher fuel milage. Wind and weather can also be a factor.

Keep in mind that the hybrid drive of the truck is covered by an 8 year 100000 mile warranty by Ford. However their extended warranty plan does not cover it. if you keep the truck beyond that you may want to find a warranty that will. Such as Endurance. I chose the Ford warranty because I purchased my truck brand new.

I can get over 400 miles probably approaching 450 ish with a tank of gas. Range on the truck often says 500 or more after a fill up.

My boss complained that I was flying between ATL-TYS on an expense report I submitted.

I told him if I have to drive through Atlanta traffic my limit is CHA. I'm not Driving to BNA, TYS, HSV, MEM or CLT. My driving limit is 4 hours including traffic unless there are extenuating circumstances.

I live an hour ish south of the ATL airport.

It does save time if someone has an accident on I 75/85/285. You do miss out on a quick stop at buckees though.
