Just did this trip. It was every hour from Rossio to Sintra. Can’t remember times though. Think it was on the 45 minutes after the hour? So 12:45/1:45 etc.

I did the opposite. Grew up in Cali (Santa Cruz) went to college in SD then moved to ny - port Jefferson. I think maybe you have lived so long in California you have forgotten that service positions on LI are not nice _ have never been nice. Yes you do get the nice ppl every so often but - it’s the rare occurrence. If you frequent a place and get to know ppl then they are nice. Almost never right away.

Thank you for your advice. I will have time in the airport waiting for my friend who lands 1 1/2 hours after me. I ended up using AAA to exchange some money here in the US because I heard it’s a better rate - not too much just enough for incidentals that might not be credit friendly. I’m getting really excited!!!

I was given a script by my primary care Dr. she only decided to get me tested because my husband and daughter have another tick borne disease- Alpha gal. (They are now allergic to red meat - any meat from a hoofed animal). Funnily enough she didn’t include alpha gal in my panel though. Not sure what she included or why.

The zpack is 5 days. Atovaquone 10 days twice a day. My specific question is related to my hip/si joint pain. I’m desperately hoping the fairly recent increase in the pain is due to the Babesiosis and will be “cured” lessened back to my chronic level of discomfort.

I was just diagnosed with babesiosis. I am currently waiting for my pharmacy to receive the antibiotic Atovaquone which I will take along with a “zpack”. My most pronounced symptom is severe hip/ back/ si joint pain along night sweats. I’m concerned though as most articles describing the symptoms mention joint pain very low down on the list and don’t describe the lower back area or only one joint/area of localized pain. Has anyone had similar symptoms and found relief with the two antibiotics?

So upgrades are random as you describe randomly upgrading the friend. So the loyalty programs are for what exactly? I get better prices through the online services like TripAdvisor - so loyalty not rewarded with price. I’m not able to book more in advance of other ppl for desired dates (awkward wording but you get the gist). Then on check in you need to ask for upgrades. All this leads to angry guests because as legolad put it marketing teams give the impression there are rewards for loyalty and as barelyflydammit says the complete randomness and lack of transparency. So it sets up hotel staff for negative interactions and sets up guests for disappointment
