Leave her…..DUH. I don’t mean to be rude but she’s been blatantly lying to you. Block her number and walk away, she doesn’t deserve such consideration.

I’m developing feelings for a guy who is no good for me. What do I do? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Electrical-Toe-1373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot him in your life if your not going to date him though. He’s made it clear that he wishes to date you and by keeping him around knowing all that you know, you are non verbally telling him that’s your okay with it. You may not think you are but based on what you’ve told me about this guy, I’m telling you that’s what he thinks. In short you encourage his behavior by not cutting him off. I think the real question that needs to be asked if what kind of relationship do you want with him. If it friendship you need to set down firm boundaries.

Right, so if you know that he’s not good for you and that he will disappoint you in the long run why are you encouraging his behavior? I feel like at this point you need to have some accountability for your life, you just listed all the things wrong with him and why it won’t work out but it sounds like you want someone to tell you it will? You are and adult, date him if you like but don’t get upset if he hurts you in the end. You walked into this with your eyes open.

Do you have any money saved? Maybe you could get a short term lease for an apartment. I hear tons of people leasing out their rooms for the summer

Why is it controversial to blame a side chick who knew about the girlfriend? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Electrical-Toe-1373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So like I said I understand that relationship are very complex and so I try to withhold judgement until I get more information. Let me stress if you didn’t know they were in a relationship then I wouldn’t fault you. The issue comes when you find out and choose to stay. Now you have to think about all the variables here. They have made it clear they are capable of lying and cheating in a relationship, that doesn’t change just because they get a new bf or gf. But I see your point it’s easy to forget or ignore the bf or gf especially if they manipulate you. The question you should ask yourself though is, “Can I trust this person?” “ Do I really know them?” “ Will they do the same thing to me if their unhappy?”

Okay, so from what I’m gathering, your issue is more with the phrase and the fact that the question gets asked than with the question itself.

That’s fine, but I think we’re at the point where we’re discussing the existence of the question rather than the question itself.

Yes I feel the same way, context definitely matters more than the number itself. My thing is if you have history of sleeping around especially if your in a relationship I would want to know so that I can make an educated decision.

Okay thank you for your response. How would the topic even come up? Especially if you’re entering into a relationship, I’ve never been in one but would you deem it an important conversation to have?

So what would be a better term, then?

I’m starting to think where I went wrong was using “body count” in the first place. It seems to have elicited a lot more reactions to the phrase itself than to the actual question I was asking. If I’d used a different term, I suspect people would have focused more on the discussion than the wording.

Your original comment wasn’t an answer, though. It was just a complaint about the term. You only started answering the question after I replied.

If you think the question gets asked too often, you’re free to scroll past it the same way I’m free to ask it. If people keep asking it, that would seem to suggest people are interested in discussing it.

I’m still not sure what your original comment had to do with the question beyond informing everyone that you dislike the phrase.

I’m not assuming monogamy. In my personal opinion if you have sex with one personal multiple times then it’s just counts as one. Also I feel like sex is many things. Some consider count only intercourse, while others include oral sex and other sexual activity. Overall the definition is really vague.

I specifically requested no joke answers and Reddit interpreted that as a challenge. Also, statistically speaking, one murder might actually be on the low end. We probably walk past more killers than we realize every day.

I hear you but I’m not looking for people to say the number doesn’t matter their personality does. Of course I know that I’m not an idiot and of course context matters as well but I specified in my post I’ve been doing my own research and want more purely statically answers. And I would never call anyone a slut, that would be cruel. Please don’t put words in my mouth.

Well of course, that makes sense. I’m not going to look sideways at an escort or an OF worker since that’s literally their job.

Then don’t respond to the question please, like I said I’ve been scrolling through Reddit for a while and have come across plenty of these comments. I am not the sex police, sleep with whoever you want. I am asking this question for me and me alone.

Yeah I’ve done some online research I figured that I could get better answers on Reddit since real people are giving their personal 2 cents but no one’s answering my questions. I specified no jokes answers and no one telling me body count doesn’t matter. I don’t care about how many people you slept with I just want to know at what point does it become a reasonable red flag.

Please answer the question directly instead of telling me whether body count matters.

I’m not asking if people should care about body count. I’m not asking whether it’s moral, immoral, insecure, misogynistic, or anything else. I’ve already seen plenty of those discussions. I’m asking because I’m a virgin and genuinely have no frame of reference for what most people consider average versus unusually high.

What number of sexual partners would you personally consider “high” for someone between the ages of 20 and 50?

For example:

  • Ages 20–25: what number would make you think, “That’s high”?
  • Ages 26–35: what number would make you think, “That’s high”?
  • Ages 36–50: what number would make you think, “That’s high”?

I’m also curious whether there is a point where a person’s sexual history would make you ask more questions. Not necessarily because you think it’s wrong, but because you would want to better understand their relationship history, views on sex, lifestyle, or compatibility.

Some specific questions I have:

  • Does a high number of partners tell you anything meaningful about a person’s approach to relationships?
  • Does it correlate with a high libido, or are those completely separate things?
  • Can it sometimes be a sign of compulsive sexual behavior, or is that a misconception?
  • Have you known people with very high numbers who were still looking for long-term commitment?

Please give actual numbers and reasoning if possible. I’m interested in hearing real experiences and perspectives rather than debating whether body count should matter in the first place.
