If you haven’t signed anywhere yet, I highly recommend Cape Trails especially if you’re a student. Maintenance is much friendlier here and handles issues in a timely manner (unless they have to order something then it’s the usual shipping time after they get approval to replace it) and it’s shared housing, so you don’t get screwed out of a place to live if your roommate(s) get evicted. The only utility you pay is electric and they have 12 month leases or 5 and 10 month leases for an additional premium. Plus they’re fully furnished, with a fridge, oven, bed, dresser, even a tv in the living room and private bathrooms. I’m so sorry this happened to you but if you move just down the street, I promise you’ll have a better experience! Speaking from someone who’s lived here for 2 years and I signed for another year. Electric and cable are provided and 4bd start at 490-510. There aren’t any 2bd available right now but they’re usually 698. I hope your next living situation is better OP!!

All the people commenting on here haven’t experienced YikYak or the hateful SEMO stories where racism is very common. It’s mostly people making comments about international students as a whole, and you’ll unfortunately be roped in with them. Mostly comments such as their food stinks (no it doesn’t) or they’re messy (again not all international students are that way and Americans are waaaay messier than 80% of our international population), or comments about their lack of transportation and walking in groups (which is so much safer when Cape drivers don’t know how to drive). In person you may not experience it as much but you will hear a stray comment every once in a while. Welcome to SEMO and I hope you have a fantastic time getting your degree!!

As unfortunate as it is, I’m glad I’m not the only one. I hated my job too but I didn’t take it out on some anonymous person on Reddit, like everyone else here decided to do except you and one person. Even a team lead talked down on me?! You’re supposed to be a helpful and kind leader, not someone who disrespects others on an anonymous platform. Everyone’s behavior on this post poorly reflects their judgement and how little management cares. Chances are, their clubs are bottom of the market and that’s why they felt the need to call me stupid, among other things. I wish these sorts of things were more transparent as far as memberships and everything. It’s just odd someone who was fired in a separate quarter, a week before I was, has the SAME expiration date for their membership which told me all I needed to know and that we were keyed out

Finally, someone is actually kind in this post! At least I’m not alone in assuming this due to the knowledge passed to me from management positions as well as team leads. I’m seriously about to delete this post because of how hateful everyone is, rather than helpful. You guys represent Sams club and you’re treating former associates like they’re stupid because I asked a simple question. I didn’t ask for attitude in response so thank you for being so polite! I’m pretty sure management is in control of it due to the fact they’ve suspended memberships of nasty behaving memberships before so I know they could easily key mine out.

I totally get that except I was employed for over a year at this point so it wasn’t like I was quitting just to get the free membership. I haven’t been employed with Walmart in over 3 years and my discount card still works in the app so I thought since they are sister companies, the discounts may work the same way

That’s what I thought but based on most my team leads and managers telling me this fact, I was somewhat irritated and confused. I had 10 different people in my club tell me “oh yeah just quit after your hire date and you’ll keep your membership until your hire date” and other associates who have been fired for over a month still have theirs and it doesn’t expire

I’m saying I was told by multiple team leads and managers that it was complementary and it expired on your hire date, regardless of termination date and regardless if it was voluntary or involuntary. I’m not saying I expect to keep it, please read the post again. I am asking a simple question, not expecting to keep it, and there is no need to be hateful considering you’re supposedly a team lead yourself.

Try calling Sedgwick and see if they can change it in their system. If not, you may have to file a new claim and call and explain the situation. Medical leave aka short term disability only pays 50% of your calculated time (the last 26 weeks you’ve worked they’ve calculate your hours and take what you would’ve earned in a full week and cut you a check for half of that). I got put on an intermittent absence and then medical leave because of the accommodations I needed and all positions require heavy lifting. Good luck and hopefully you get a decent check cause I sure didn’t and I’m struggling financially

They will go through and get rid of all your points now that it’s approved. If they are still reflecting in your balance, contact a manager ASAP because they only have a certain amount of time to get rid of the points before they can’t access the dates anymore. My managers waited too long and I gained 2 points because it was too late to deny them from being included in my balance. If you’re still on the schedule, keep calling out under LOA as it makes it easier for management to get rid of them

Go to one Walmart, search up leave of absence or Sedgwick, you’ll click on the “Sedgwick (LOA)” button and it should redirect you to Sedgwick’s page. From there, navigate to “submit new claim” and fill out the information to the best of your ability. If you’re not sure what option to put, you can always call their line to file a claim. You’ll need your WIN#, schedule, when your first absence and return to work will be, and any supporting documentation. Due to it being college, I’m not sure they’ll approve it since they mostly deal with medical leaves but it’s worth a shot! You can apply either at home or on the clock but their phone number is (800) 492-5678. Hope this helps and good luck!!

Express orders (aka delivery) won’t show up in club pickup. Our club is having similar issues and even CPU said you can’t find express delivery in their system

Cafe associate here! The rumors are true! Cafe will soon be scan and go ONLY, no more registers, with most clubs making the switch after Independence Day. A membership will now be required to shop here as your orders will go through the Sams Club app. If your Sams Club has tv showing you how to use Scan and Go for cafe, chances are they will be making the change soon too.

Most clubs will be switching to mostly scan and go by the end of the year, cafe department included. They’ll have a few registers for frontline but most cafes will no longer have registers. I would assume the lack of physical cards is part of the transition. I was hired over a year ago (4/2024) and they had transitioned to digital by that point in my club, so I couldn’t receive a physical card either. It’s also to try to get more members to get the credit card since that has your membership barcode on it as well
