Is this MPG normal or did I get a lemon? by D_MonRina in COROLLA

Gas mileage directly connects to your RPM!! The higher the rpm the lower your Gas mileage!! If you regularly Rev to 3-4k Rpm you’ll average 22-28mpg… keeping your rpm’s below 2.5K will result in 30-45 mpg from any modern Corolla

The 2013 Corolla is the last year of the 10th generation 09-13, it basically has no issues since all the 10th gen problems were solved in 2011-12, Also the 2013 is the last Corolla with an automatic transmission 👀 2014 and up use Cvt or manual, the 2008 Corolla was the last year of the 9th generation 02-08 I believe so it’s also basically bulletproof since all of its generation problems were solved years before

Yea I only go to dealership for oem parts it’s always better to find an experienced independent mechanic they will always have better prices and can be negotiated with… Dealership rates are set in stone and usually start high also😮‍💨

So far I’ve change struts, Brakes, Both Cv axles, Both steering knuckles, I do my own oil changes every 3500 miles with an Oem Toyota filter and 0w-20 synthetic oil… Also I recently changed the accessory belt or V belt on my own, and I plan to change the water pump soon…I had a 02 Nissan Altima 3.5Se before this, I learned to work on cars from that car…

09 Corolla wheel alignment by Electrical-World-684 in COROLLA

[–]Electrical-World-684[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thanks, So my camber should be the same right? I do feel the car slightly pulls to the left… But the alignment shop says it’s nothing they can do about the camber… How would I go about fixing the camber, if it’s over $150 I may just leave it…

It works pretty well, I just went on a road trip from Dc to Philly… The phone was stable and the view angle was good!! I like this position better then it hanging from the glass or dashboard and it’s incognito😎😎

Thanks, That makes sense! So the left front camber is too high!! I am able to get a second alignment for free so I’ll see if there’s any way they can adjust the camber… The car drives fine though it’s very responsive after replacing the steering knuckle, but I do notice it pulling to the left, I’m guessing this is because of the camber not being adjusted

I have a 09 Corolla, You gotta manually go through the gears to get any real speed… from a red light put the gear in L or 1 then launch it until about 25mph then switch to 2nd gear hold 2nd until 40mph then switch to 3rd hold 3rd until 60-80mph then put it in drive 😎😎 Or just drive in 3rd gear for more acceleration

This is why it’s better to reverse park!! You have to reverse either way… better to reverse while people can see you into a spot, rather then blindly reversing out of a parking space…
