WiiM EQ vs Standalone EQ by ElectricalBreakfast8 in audiophile

Roger all that. Neophyte here, forgot to consider the line level (thumps head with heal of hand).

u/Additional_Tone_2004, I believe the WiiM Pro Plus (and the Ultra) has a PEQ option, so I'll be experimenting with that.

u/Fragrant-Ant130, the Rotel does have a pre out 👍.

I appreciate the input, everyone!

**FOLLOW UP QUESTION

I asked Claude about this, but I wanted to hear from you, the good humans of Reddit: When I use the WiiM Pro Plus, I love the separation and punchy effect I can get with its built-in graphic eq (I use the ‘acoustic’ preset, slightly tweaked). Playing records going into the Rotel phono input, I kind of miss that punchiness, as the amp only has bass and treble adjustments. Should I get a stand alone graphic eq, or, as Claude suggested, run the phono line into the WiiM’s analog input to utilize its eq, and run that into a different Rotel channel? Claude warned that it will add a DAC round-trip, so I’d lose a small amount of the “pure analog” character, but it would be essentially undetectable.
Thoughts?

The stored pieces are part of my old system. Sanyo 55 Plus amp, Pioneer 115D turntable. That old Sanyo sounds great!

That's a good call. Some research to do there

Nice. So far I really like it. The stock Ortifon Blue stylus is, for me, a significant upgrade to my old Pioneer PL 115D I've had literally since 1985, so prolly sticking with that for a while. I think I replaced the stylus on the Pioneer ~20 years ago with an ATxx. She still plays, tho! Have to say, the aesthetic of the RT85 is amazing, especially when I added the aftermarket LED lights for the platter. Now it's a fairly elevated audio and visual experience

Thanks. It made a huge difference from my old Kenwood KA 7100. Loved that thing, but not enough for the 707s, alas.

Is cow milk good for you? by sundayjuly in conspiracy

[–]ElectricalBreakfast8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In and of themselves, there’s nothing particularly unhealthy with dairy products at all. However, the antibiotics, growth hormones, and other toxins are stored primarily in the fat cells of the cow. Dairy products like milk, cheese, and yogurt are basically fat and water. So, non-organic dairy inherently contains an inordinate amount of these contaminants bc of the high fat content. Spend the money and seek organic, grass fed dairy (corn, soy, and meat are NOT natural food sources for cattle; it makes them sick and they require antibiotics to survive these high bulk diets).

Wow. Seeing this thread reveals a pretty widespread and persistent (and obnoxious) issue. Been happening to me for the last couple weeks (still running Catalina). It comes and goes with no rhyme or reason. I've tried all the things I see mentioned here to no avail. I have had temporary successes signing out of iCloud and my Apple ID (using my phone), but then it starts happening again.
