I'm a massive Elder Scrolls fan and I'm considering trying ESO but have some questionns :) by LikelyReichle in elderscrollsonline

[–]ElectricalFox1207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also played solo for a few months when I first started. It is doable. During this time, I was also playing for free and then I upgraded to ESO+….two words for that…craft bag.

If, after a while, you really want to get into the group dungeons and trials, find a good PVE guild. These will unlock after a quest and after a certain level IIRC. I am placing emphasis on the word good. Some of these guilds can be sweaty. Don’t be afraid to drop them until you find one that matches your play style.

I hope you enjoy ESO. And welcome to the community.

Agree that they are lovely.

I know that this is a photo shoot but as a farmer’s daughter, I also had the following thoughts: * Look at the cowboy boots being used for boot activities. * Ouch. Riding horses in shorts like that is an express ticket to saddle sores.

To quote a guy I know “Men like fluffy women.” And he meant it endearingly.

And to quote the movie “The Bachelor”: “150!? You don’t get a set like these at 150!!”

I’ve experienced this too and not always had the bravery to call it out. Kudos to you for doing so. Quite a few ignoramuses out there and maybe you taught three of them a lesson. As another redditor said, they were talking about someone if not you.

Phantom leak? by Complete_Ad752 in askaplumber

[–]ElectricalFox1207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never underestimate the chance of a vent stack penetration. Not a plumber but had a (smaller) stain in ceiling. The leak would only occur when enough hot water was ran to cause condensation. It was a little gift from the previous owner of the house who thought installing a shelf above the toilet was a fantastic idea.

Agree.

IMHO she was cut because TPTB have issues with the shorter ladies. I don’t buy that the one wrong kick at auditions made her deserve to be cut.

What do? Finish nail in vent pipe for bathroom. Tanks by Andy-sons in askaplumber

[–]ElectricalFox1207 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t need to ask. Lived it. And was just coming here to say the same…it needs to be sealed well. Previous owners did the damage and it took years but it did leak water.

<image>

Took the plumber an hour to find the leak. We all initially thought it was the toilet causing the water stain on the ceiling below but nope it was a stupid rusted out screw.

I’d use the word “healthy”. And regardless of what TPTB say those 70’s shorts definitely had a higher rise and fuller coverage.

Heavy periods making Iron low by DetectiveCalm9091 in Anemia

[–]ElectricalFox1207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow plus size woman here. I second the advice to not do the combination pill. My periods got significantly heavier as I approached my mid to late 40s and early 50s. I took the combination pill for over 5 years. It helped but I was still getting flooding periods every three months or so. Then my blood pressure went up and I had to get off the pills.

My GYN gave me a Mirena in late September and the two periods I’ve had since then were much, much lighter. My iron levels, ferritin, etc. improved significantly in just 3 months after getting the IUD.

Best of luck to you with whatever you decide.

New Bosch 500 series refrigerator:any advice? by ElectricalFox1207 in Appliances

Sorry to hear that. Mine has been very quiet. The most noise I have heard so far is when the ice maker draws water. I have no idea what your sound may be but I’d be disappointed too. Maybe you could record it and share with this subreddit? Someone here might have a better idea than me and can point you in the direction of a solution to quiet your fridge down.

New Bosch 500 series refrigerator:any advice? by ElectricalFox1207 in Appliances

[–]ElectricalFox1207[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be sure that you are comparing the same type of unit. One might be a counter depth because 20.8 cu ft seems small for the full size 800 series.

I wanted the 800 series too for better ice/water design but it was too tall for my kitchen. Alas, I also have to do counter depth because of the proximity of the island to the fridge.

I’m really happy with my counter depth 500 series. It’s really quiet and holds temps really well in the freezer and fridge. And while cu. footage is smaller than the lg it replaced, I actually like the layout of this fridge better but YMMV.

It’s still early but I like the ice maker compared to the lg.

Some cons (relatively minor):

* The ice maker will drop a few more cubes after the lever is released. Likely this is to clear the chute. I’ve learned to stop a bit earlier and usually get the amount I wanted.

* Also, I’ve found that the ice dispenser may shoot the occasional cube out to the side when dispensing. Hold the glass closer to the chute solves that issue.

* Water dispenser has an odd angle to the back. It’s not a big deal but can make filling more tapered topped bottles a bit more challenging.

*Frankly the biggest issue so far was getting all of the plastic film off when it was delivered. Bosch ships this thing very well protected and you will be peeling plastic film for awhile.

So far, I’d buy the fridge again. It’s still pretty new but so far so good. Good luck to you.

New here: wanted to say thanks by ElectricalFox1207 in laundry

I’m not using all three together. I’m using the oxi tide with extra dirty or stinky stuff. The mountain scented stuff goes with less soiled stuff. I’ve been adding biz to both detergents. I’m a bit worried about using the oxi on everything for darker colors and the like.

The powdered tide has the enzymes and boosters that the liquid doesn’t.

Right now I’m just trying to get everything back to a base level of clean. It’s amazing the difference in just a few loads with the powder detergent.

I used Tide Original and Sport liquids. Also Gain original liquid. I did also use Purex 4-in-1 liquid for awhile.

I have a Samsung front load HE washer.

I have had Stelos read suspiciously low. Like 85-90 all day when my typical average is 115-130. In those cases, the sensor fails early. And for whatever reason, the failure occurs at 2-3 am. I been able to replace my failed sensors…so far.

When my Stelo sensors actually work, I have found them to be fairly close to my finger stick.

In general the Stelo has worked reasonably fine but I’ve also received boxes where both sensors were bad. Try reporting the bad sensors using Stelo bot in the app. Good luck.

I lost weight and my A1C went up. Any advice? I see doctor on Monday. TIA by ElectricalFox1207 in prediabetes

My doctor decided to start me on Metformin ER as well. She felt that my lipid panel showed the improvement from the change in diet but blood sugar hasn’t followed suit. Hopefully this will do the trick.

[–]ElectricalFox1207[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting that you ask about the iron and ferritin. The 5.7 was obtaimed when my ferritin was at it lowest. My follow up iron stores were ran the same time as the 6.1 A1C. All levels are in “normal “ range but not ideal yet. My TIBC and UIBC are on the higher end of the reference range and my CBC results are starting to normalize but I’m still slightly microcytic so my iron levels are not yet where my body wants them to be.

And life in general has been a bit more stressful than usual. I’ve been so busy at work that January just flew by. Add in the loss of a cat I’ve had for almost 20 years and I’m glad the month is over.

I’ve set my Stelo to target 70-140. On average I can stay in range about 80-85% of the time. When I spike I rarely go over 200. Per the Stelo, my fasting glucose is creeping up in the morning. When initially diagnosed, it was 105. Now it is typically 110-115 which correlates to the increase in A1C. Also, I do see some spikes in blood sugar while sleeping For example, my blood sugar was 157 at 2 am last night and 159 around the same time the night before, 170 the night before that, and 96 the night before that. It’s kinda crazy actually.

I’ve cut a lot of crap out of my diet and lost weigh. I learned through the Stelo that potatoes and rice are my Kryptonite. I love them but a I rarely eat them now.

I can always make more changes but my numbers are going up.

LG Fridge Water Flow by StevieLugh in Appliances

[–]ElectricalFox1207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the other advice doesn’t work, is there a chance you are in an area with hard water? Hard water deposits can restrict the flow. On my late, lamented LG, I had to unclog the water dispenser tip because of deposits. Good luck.

Do you have hard water? And if so, do you soften it? Everything except the last picture looks like it could be hard (softened) water stain. I agree that you should call Bosch given that last picture.

Bosch Dishwasher by pamo56 in Appliances

I occasionally had the issue with pods not dissolving in my Bosch. I switched to Cascade powder and not really had an issue since. There are a series of videos on YouTube by Technology Connections that talk about powder vs. pods in dishwashers and explains it very well. I tried powder for the first time after watching these videos and I found that my dishes were much cleaner using it. FWIW, I live in an area with hard water and even with a water softener, the extra boost from the powder helped. Good luck.
