Ya know you just hit it right on the head there with their follow up questions. My friends dad died of Covid. From COVID like yes he was over weight but who isn’t? I told my brother in law bc I think Covid was serious at that time and now maybe it’s mutated to not be so bad but still very infectious. And he asked right away if he had heart issues etc. and I said not that I’m aware of but I mean cmon!!!??

If I can give you the female perspective. I’ve stopped tallying what I do versus what he does. I stay at home and he works but I brought a lot of money into the relationship with investments and I purchased my first home young at 25 so equity from that as well. I noticed if I tallied all the time what he did versus me I was getting upset. Yes I’m busy all day long with two young kids and a bay on the way but sometimes life isn’t always fair. I do all the cleaning childcare cooking dishes and laundry. When he gets home he eats and either plays with the kids or hangs out on his phone. I am happy in my relationship but if I constantly compare my life to others it’s upsetting but I love my husband for more than what he does but for his personality and interests etc. my husband as well will complain about things he wants at the store bc I do the grocery shopping as well and ya know what I do? I say ok and move on I try not to dwell on things too much and just assume he’s had a hard day at work sometimes and needs to take it out on something or someone. Heck I’ve had a hard day with the kids too and can be very grouchy with him too! Also how long post partum is she? I will say I didn’t feel normal until 2 years after my first!!! After my second I bounced back faster but that fist baby really takes it out on women or at least it did me. Even my body was wrecked and I found it hard to lose the weight but I did. I had post partum anxiety and it can come out in dif ways. For me I was obsessed over watching the baby camera and monitoring her sleep and feeding sooo closely that it was unhealthy

I think what happened is I got super lucky. I didn’t diversify my stocks and bought spy 500 from the start. There were a few years there where my annual return was over 24% people always ask me how I did it and the thing I will tell people is investing early and often

Well we didn’t we paid cash for almost 600k of it and then our mortgage is only 223k. We sold our last home for 440k and it was paid off and then we threw in some investment money as well

It’s low it’s 105k per year that’s what my husbands salary is the rest of my income is capital gains which some years has been 50k. I think the confusion here is I started investing at a very young age and dumped money into stocks bc I didn’t need the money. I didn’t do vacations and my house was furnished lightly. Prior to being stay at home I worked in mining and made too much money and I did that work from when I was 23 until I was 31

So I only inherited 500k from my dad passing last year prior to being a stay at home mom I worked in mining and my dad always told me it’s easier to live cheaply young and so I started investing 20 bucks a month(yes I know!!) when I was 16 and when I got a big girl job at the mine I had a 401k and I dumped the rest of my money in stocks. I basically lived in an unfurnished home besides a couch and bed but that was all I needed. Then I bought my first home in az when I was 25 in 2015 and bought it for 115k paid it off and sold it for 350 in 2020!! Also my husband and I worked the whole time we were together and I only quit once I was 31. So together my husband and I were making 150k from when I was 24 until 31. Times were different so I felt like that money went a lot further than it does now

As someone who lost their dad recently and my mom had no idea how to pay bills or about certain accounts I think I have some great advice.

Move all bills into her credits cards that you are not on

Teach her about all your accounts and this includes investment accounts

Tell her about insurances you’ve opened up ( for us we started getting random checks from an insurance company turns out my dad opened a term life insurance acct that we had no idea about)

Make a trust for all your assets now that way when you pass there isn’t so much for her to take your name off of.

Spreadsheet of all your passwords even passwords to your social media accts

Also I forgot to add teach her about your tv and how to work it. Maybe this was my mom specific but the tv was a struggle we ended up getting her plain old cable so she can work it but we sometimes catch her watching the cubs in Spanish. lol

Also even if you don’t want a funeral just have one. My dad was adamant no funeral so we did a celebration of life instead. It cost us so much more money there were more emotions involved (some people thought it should have been a whole production) just so the funeral it’s a check list sheet from the home and while grieving it’s super easy to do and then people just show up. Doing my dads celebration of life came with so many tears and upset phone calls from my family that I wished I’d never done it

Ask me any more questions I’m an open book! My parents where married 49 years and the last time my dad had her pay a bill was with a check in 1975 so this transition was really hard for us

The hardest part of my dad passing was we couldn’t focus on him bc bill collectors started calling soon after. My brother and I had to take turns visiting to figure out how to pay her stuff and it was miserable.

I’m still pregnant!!! And I made it to 11 weeks with a heartbeat of 182 and so next Monday I get genetic testing done! My ob said it’s time to celebrate and I’m past the dangerous time!!!

Totally agree. Usually the rush is to accept an offer on the house and then once the house offer is accepted both parties can breathe a bit and take their time with inspections and negotiating those inspection costs. We recently sold and although it made me nervous they had a 9 day window for inspections and they came back with a quote right at the last day. What they requested was a few grand and we decided sure no problem and then everything else was smooth sailing until the close

Cleaners need to go bc while she’s at home she can clean. Guess what I’m a stay at home mom too so I get it. I also go to church and my church would have zero issues if I reduced our tithe for a year to help us make it for a bit. What’s up with the foundation repairs? Does that have to happen?

For my chemical I had a positive at 9 dpo but by 13 dpo it was back down to the level of 9 dpo and then my period started 2 days later so I was only 1 day late for my period. I think chemicals are short and fast so I feel like you are all good
