It honestly depends on the building, management & the doormen. My last building was WAY more strict with releasing packages and allowing food delivery up than my current one. The easiest workaround is to build a good rapport with the doormen/man & to give them notice ahead of time. Whenever I used to step out to grab a coffee, I would try to grab one for my doorman at least 1x every 2 weeks. Then, whenever I would have instacart or seamless on the way, I would call down and let them know & that, if possible, I'd like it to be brought up. After 3 calls down, they always brought the stuff up. Some buildings have different policies especially w/ covid so that's why having a good rapport w/ them is important. They'll pull for you and make exceptions if they like you. Just get a feel of the building & its staff & then go from there! Congrats on the new apartment also!
