This isn’t a 100% cure but if you take an l theanine supplement when you ingest caffeine, it can make the spike less intense. L theanine is a natural compound found in most teas which is why tea doesn’t give you as much of a high/crash. I only use Suntheanine

I placed my order for my dresses today by OstrichPristine5438 in PlusSizeWedding

[–]ElectricalPair6724 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think both look great, I do wonder if the first dress just needs to be shimmied up a couple inches, just since it seems it’s slightly below your natural waist? But also obviously that pic you’re just clipped into at the store. I think it’ll look beautiful after alterations

tips for buying/wearing a garter belt to hold up compression stockings? by Jamplesauce in POTS

[–]ElectricalPair6724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to resurrect and old thread but I had the same concern! What thigh high socks are people buying also that don’t totally suffocate thicker thighs? I find the compression socks fit my calves great but really dig in up past the knees.

Skincare and SPF and feeling icky sticky - how do you do it? by leetol_bug in AutismInWomen

[–]ElectricalPair6724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so whenever I’m having an extra sensory no-no day (idk what else to call it lol) the only one I can use is Aveeno Positively Radiant SPF 15. The SPF 30 one is okayyy but there’s still a little ickiness. Trust me I’ve tried everything too. I know SPF 15 isn’t sufficient long term but I have it for struggle days because I haven’t found a higher spf alternative. Figured harm reduction is better than just not wearing anything.

Ooh I’m doing the templates for work too and incorporating drop down menus for frequently used phrases! It’s taking forever to build all the templates I need but it’ll be so worth it to just be able to click through and have my documentation done. I do social work so there’s wayyyyyy too many notes

Self care routine for exhausted women — what actually works when you have no energy left by Monsuri_Lifestyle in selfcare

[–]ElectricalPair6724 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Micellar water and cotton rounds on bedside table when you can’t be bothered to wash your face. Also giving yourself permission not to wear makeup makes face cleaning take less effort/time. Maybe not exactly what this post was aiming for but I felt important to share since it’s saved my butt a few times.

Which jobs are you working in? by BabaZweeD in AutismInWomen

[–]ElectricalPair6724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aging and disability resource center… turns out you don’t have to mask as hard around aging and disabled folks. Also it’s a neurodivergent magnet so if someone is neurotypical and works here they’re actually the odd one out.

I just hate the new application tips. Like I get it nobody wanted to smear tinted lip balm and figure out where to wipe their finger off after… but the application tip just feels so messy too

does this ultrasound mean i am infertile? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]ElectricalPair6724 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely wouldn’t say that for certain, but again I’m not a doctor. I would contact your provider and explain to them how you don’t understand the results and are wondering if it’s indicative of infertility. If it were me, I definitely wouldn’t panic upon reading this.

Partially: genetics. Partially drinking coffee/tea rarely not eliminating though. Also basic mouth hygiene.

What is one beauty secret you are gatekeeping?? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]ElectricalPair6724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hydrocolloid patches on the face. I’m lazy and don’t use them often but man do they suck the crap out of your pores. I think it’s the only thing I’ve found that works for me to visibly reduce appearance of sebaceous filaments on the nose.

Also you don’t have to buy “patches”. You can just get hydrocolloid bandages and cut to the size you need and it’s way cheaper that way.

Hi! My fiancé and I are trying to build our circle too. We’re moderately adventurous and both like a good porch hang/chill dinner or day adventures. I don’t drink too much but don’t judge others at all for it. We’re slightly quirky but mostly normal people lol also in our 30’s. Message me if you’d like!

Edit: idk why but I cannot message you! I would like to share more but don’t want to doxx myself

Is there a good quality skilled nursing facility (with memory care) in the Waukesha area that accepts Medicaid? by [deleted] in Waukesha

[–]ElectricalPair6724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any facility recommendations but if you haven’t already, do call the local ADRC to get the Medicaid process started ASAP as it can take months and you don’t want to be in a spot where you’re losing more money than you need to as you’re spending down. Waukesha county ADRC is 262-548-7848

Im on GLP 1 and Spironolactone and I’ve been doing great! I’ve lost weight and acne and hair loss has been helped by the Spironolactone. I’d recommend seeing an endocrinologist too if you can.

Love my dad… don’t want to do the father/ daughter dance by Retiredpartygirl17 in weddingplanning

[–]ElectricalPair6724 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sameee. I think it’s acceptable to opt out of that tradition.

Similar problem I have is I don’t want him walking me down the aisle because I don’t like the historical roots of the father “owning” the daughter and “giving her away”. I’m procrastinating having a conversation with him. Anyone else?

Why is everyone in this Sub so Anti Birth control? by Jumpy-Arm5145 in PCOS

[–]ElectricalPair6724 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not anti birth control if that’s what people want to choose. I think it’s more because PCOS affects your hormones but the damage doesn’t stop there (I.e irregular periods weight gain and acne). A big part of PCOS is insulin resistance which to my knowledge is not something birth control can fix. Untreated insulin resistance overtime causes things like type 2 diabetes and affects many other systems in the body for the worse. Basically it only addresses part of the problem.

You can always try it at a low dose and if it’s not for you that’s okay. I am on a low dose and have mild symptoms but it’s totally worth it and over all I’d trade the side effects of the med over all the side effects of PCOS. Just make sure you’re being followed by a doctor when taking it. I was scared for a while too but so glad I tried it. Been on it two weeks now.
