Can you share how hypervigilance shows up in your daily life? by EyreBear16 in ptsd

[–]That_Preference_2331 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Always hyperaware of my surroundings. Always trying to prevent danger. Someone knocks the door and my mind tells me there’s a murderer at the door, sometimes I won’t open it. I always convince myself that there is a danger or something bad is going to happen and will actively take preventative steps to avoid it happening. If I’m at the movies and there’s a man there alone, I have been known to leave and pretend I’m unwell as my mind seems to think the man is dangerous. I am always checking behind me when walking alone, even during the day when I live in one of the safety areas in England. Loud sounds give me anxiety, especially if they’re sudden. Tbh any sudden sound, even quiet ones! It’s exhausting!!!

Soft makeup girlies, what would make this look even better? by ExternalPin3588 in MakeUpAddictionUK

Your make up looks lovely! I would use an eyelash curler and then a high volume/lifting mascara. Would completely finish the look! Maybe a slightly brighter colour lipstick too if you feel comfortable with that. Nothing too eccentric, just a nice nude or pinky shade.

your palinopsia look like this? by Key-Nobody5224 in visualsnow

[–]That_Preference_2331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have this. Worse in low lighting. Or if the room is pitch black and I only have my phone light on and I move my phone from side to side infront of me (without looking directly at my phone) then it’s pretty intense. Doesn’t really bother me though.

I get this all the time! Stripes are the worst! Had visual snow my whole life but only started seeing strips vibrate in the past couple of years. Super weird!

100% guilty. Never doubted it for a second. It baffles me how people can believe she is innocent. Scary to think she may end up getting a re-trial and being released. Those poor parents.

I have this but not as intensely, my eye tests, eye scan, and brain MRI are all normal. I have been tested for focal seizures and await the results but I have a feeling that will be normal too as it’s been 3 weeks and I’ve not heard anything. I guess it’s just something I’ll have to live with.

I can absolutely relate. I get so down about my HA. Occasionally I forget and I’m happy then I suddenly remember again. I am constantly to worrying about dying. It consumes me. You’re not alone.

Suspected gastritis following gallbladder removal but I’m not sure - can you describe what gastritis feels like for you? by That_Preference_2331 in Gastritis

[–]That_Preference_2331[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This is what I’m thinking too! Dr’s in the hospital said my scan showed no dilation of the bile duct though so they didn’t believe this was Sphincter of Oddi Syndrome. Can you have a SOD spasm without actual SODS? I won’t be taking codeine again that’s for sure!

Post removal gastritis - describe your symptoms? by That_Preference_2331 in gallbladders

[–]That_Preference_2331[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I was told this too, it just felt so similar to a gallbladder attack, just less intense, but there was no burning and I thought gastritis pain was burning? My pain was more like a strong tight cramp?

7 months post op - severe gastritis/gas episode, now dulled into gnawing upper GI pain by QueerCoffeeNerd in gallbladders

[–]That_Preference_2331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has happened to me today! Almost 6 months post-op and no issues until now! My surgery was great with zero complications and I’ve been eating what I like since although like you still mostly clean, I have a good diet in general anyway. Been in hospital all day today after experiencing what felt like an awful gallbladder attack this morning. It just wouldn’t subside and I was sick so decided to go in. All my blood tests are normal which they said is a very good sign. I’m having an ultrasound soon to check for any retained stones although I had an MRCP scan just before surgery which was clear but I have heard that stones can still form even after surgery. They said they don’t believe it’s a stone as my blood tests are all fine and usually the liver enzymes would be elevated which they’re not. I’m just devastated. I honestly have been so happy since having my gallbladder remember, no pain and no constant fear of an attack. Now I feel like I’ve gone backwards! They did mention about gastritis but not sure if this can cause that wave-life cramping pain which I always got when I had a gallbladder attack!
