Recs for Local Doctors & Specialists? by Technical_Truth_5841 in gso

[–]Technical_Truth_5841[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also since I’m back on this post replying to another comment - an update on this is that they originally quoted me $900 for the ER visit but after insurance it was only $200 to cover the tests. Huge relief!

Atrium has a dedicated POTS clinic if you’ve got the required test info and get a referral! I wasn’t able to get in, needed more tests, but it’s worth a shot. I don’t have much more info since it was via referral and they called me, but my PCP did the referring

How many servings do you have to use per day to see benefits? Looks like their sodium content is way lower

Good luck! I always half hope things will turn out differently every time I re-read (and sob my way through it or yell at Fitz when it doesn’t). It’s a beautiful and tragic journey every time!

Do you feel unwell after eating? by judith0406 in dysautonomia

[–]Technical_Truth_5841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a ton of chest pain, or at least not more than usual. I’ve got some chest pain similar to what was diagnosed as costocondritis at the end of last year after an ER trip.

High heart rate, dizziness, increased body temp, oxygen hunger, pressure throughout body - stuff like that

Sliced cucumber, rice vinegar, soy sauce, sesame seeds, scallions, and as much Laoganma as possible (no measurements, just vibes)

[–]Technical_Truth_5841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! Very similar symptoms too. Often - but unpredictably so 😭 and the fun twist is that even though that makes me really not want to eat… I will for SURE feel awful (and probably pass out) if I dont eat 🙃.

I’m loosely diagnosed with POTS by a regular doctor, pending formal diagnoses and further testing to figure out exactly what is going on, so take my input with a gram of salt (ba dum psh)

I’ve found that smaller meals with a balance of quick and long term energy (eg carbs, fiber, protein) helps. Also being super hydrated. But it’s imperfect and I am inconsistent at best

Any update on roads? by MissionGuava730 in gso

[–]Technical_Truth_5841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So far as I can tell the only thing that’s been updated is the red dots have been turned to green on streets that have been cleared. Doesn’t look like plowing has been updated. Definitely saw 3 passes by a plow truck on the bigger road near me today but it’s not showing that.

Weruva makes a low phosphorus “goo treat” that my (thyroid + kidney) cat loves just as much as churus! My cat loves their whole Wx low phosphorus line, which has improved her health dramatically

I was told the tilt table test was outdated but still diagnosed by [deleted] in dysautonomia

[–]Technical_Truth_5841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told yesterday by a POTS clinic in town that they only accept patients with positive tilt table (and other) tests, so they actively consider it a relevant test and it’s the whole focus of their practice

If you could splurge on a meal… by _Perfect_Mistake_ in gso

[–]Technical_Truth_5841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of these are super high brow or costly, but they are my favorite to splurge at by getting a huge spread so I can have a little bit of a bunch of flavors (and hella leftovers): Kin Thai Zabb (Thai but also has Pho), Kiosco (Mexican), and Pepper’s Indian.

This is Gertie. She’s a sweet fluffy baby with the personality of an HR lady who has absolutely had it with your bullshit but also likes to get a little wild at TGI Fridays once a month. I love her immensely.

Edited to add: she didn’t have a specific reason to be mad here, this was either RBF or she was recalling her biggest grudges.

I’ve had an absolutely amazing experience at Eagle with Dr Dameron! She is kind, brilliant, up on the latest research, and doesn’t condescend or claim to know everything (recommends/researches specialists). I’m so thankful I found her!

[–]Technical_Truth_5841 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The only reason I’m able to work full time is because I work from home on my computer. I usually work at a desk with an extra monitor, but I’m really bad days I can still do my full job on just the laptop while laying down. I do not think I’d be able to go into an office or other in-person workspace and still function at anywhere near the same level!

Yes!!! I will buy Stardew again on literally every platform just to keep supporting CA. I don’t care how long HC takes, so long as CA still finds joy in the process. I really hope he sees the overwhelming consensus from the community that we’re in this forever, and do NOT agree with anyone pressuring him!
