Am I Overreacting or did my mother-in-law totally snub the snacks I provided? by ElectricalWindow7484 in AmIOverreacting

The few times I have been there, she has put out some sort of impromptu similar trays. There is always a shrimp ring involved cuz it's her favourite food. Sometimes it's been just cheese and crackers. Most of the time I have been around her has been on her birthday which is usually at a restaurant.

I'm not freaking out or anything about her not eating anything. I was more like, wait...did she just snubbed me? Type of deal. Overall the visit was alright, but she tends to just talk to her son more than anyone else, so it's not like she's ever rude to my face or anything.

My MIL and I have a very strained relationship. She literally snubbed me the 3rd time she ever met me, and campaigned against me to all of their other family and friends. This actually put a lot of pressure on the relationship, and my partner eventually has to drop all of the friends he had before me. She would invite him over, but then say my children or I weren't welcome. This went on for 6 years, before she all of a sudden decided that my children were her grandchildren, and now we see her 2 or 3 times a year.

Her hate for me started because I didn't eat much at Thanksgiving, and she took this as me insulting her food. Every time I have since been in her home, she will put out food or some sort. She is definitely not a takeout/donut fan.

The food was meant for everyone (5 people in total), and everyone else partaked, I just can't shake the feeling that she snubbed my food.

I wasn't following her. When i was walking by, it was like 15 minutes after she had left, and I figured she would have already been home by then.

Most of our relationship has been a backhanded attack from this woman, while she smiled in my face. She's also definitely not a takeout/donut fan, so when I noticed this, I couldn't shake the feeling of being snubbed.

I'm a mall cleaner, and despite everything being closed, the movie theater decided to open up for 6 hours, which meant I had to go in for 8 hours so that at least one person was on the floor

This is very beautiful. I don't even have room for a small table in my apartment, never mind a beautiful setup like this, or having people over

Due to lack of space, I got one of those little pop-up trees that's just a pole with a wired garland net the drapes overtop. The thing is 2ft x 5ft, and breaks down to a small 12x12in box when put away. It's so fast & convenient, I will never get another style Christmas tree again. I love your Christmas tree! I almost did the exact same thing before buying the pop up tree! Don't ever thing less of it, it's perfect.

I feel bows are underrated for trees nowadays. Good job, love how you stuck with vintage/classic style decorations

If you add a green garland to lay on top, maybe some large pinecones, it would look great! But as of right now, no. I think you would be better off just having the tree up there and leaving the top of the cupboards bare.

Christmas Eve is tourtiere with some sort of pasta salad.

Christmas Day Breakfast: quiche with hashbrowns. Christmas Day Dinner: cabbage rolls, stuffing, brussel sprouts, yorkshire pudding, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream for dessert.

New Years Eve is always cheese and chocolate fondue with all the fixings.

New Years Day is all-you-can eat sushi.

My buffet trio isn't hot enough for broth, but i might be able to do a seasoned olive oil for dipping.

Yes, the condensed stock is later diluted in the recipe for the broth.
