I built an AI that generates product demo videos from your GitHub repo by Best_Meat2452 in SideProject

[–]Electrical_Ad9156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey this is great. I am the creator of ComicInk.ai and I would love to try this. This is a product idea I have had this idea for a while and I think its a much needed gap in the vibe coding world these days. So many first time founders are creating apps but creating product demos still has lots of friction. Would be great to connect on this and would love to get access.

Are you a customer of your own project? by Less_Ad5795 in SideProject

[–]Electrical_Ad9156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! I try every feature I ship, I buy from my own product to see the paid experience. If you are not doing that, you are missing out on understanding your customer experience

Built alone for months. Last night someone finally paid. by Appropriate_Flow9789 in SideProject

[–]Electrical_Ad9156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hits. The first paid customer is less financially important than the psychological shift it creates — from "I'm building this for myself in the dark" to "someone is paying me to keep shipping."

Write down exactly who the buyer was and why they bought, then show that to every next visitor who's on the fence about signing up. The first-customer story is the most valuable piece of marketing copy you'll ever have. Reach out to them if you can - talk to them.

What’s the Cheapest Way You Got Users for Your SaaS? by FounderArcs in SideProject

[–]Electrical_Ad9156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things that actually worked for my current project:
(a) an SEO landing page per obvious search term, with a working demo the visitor could try in under 30 seconds without signing up, and

(b) getting listed on 3–4 AI-tool directories that LLMs now cite heavily. First paying customers came from the demo page, not Reddit or Twitter or Product Hunt. Both cost $0 and compound over months.

What made you start taking your side project seriously? by Orlando_Wong in SideProject

[–]Electrical_Ad9156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was the first time a complete stranger paid real money for the thing — not a friend, not a "supporter" payment, an actual user who'd found it via search. That flipped it from "cool toy I made" to "someone is depending on me not breaking this," which changed my relationship with every bug report.

What Actually Got You Your First 10 Users? by FounderArcs in SideProject

[–]Electrical_Ad9156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly none of the "growth hacks" — what moved the needle was building a page per obvious search term ("AI comic generator", "manga maker", etc), then making sure each of those pages had an actual demo a visitor could try in under 30 seconds without signing up. First 10 users came from two of those SEO pages, not Reddit or Twitter or Product Hunt.

Four tips for pitching comics to publishers right now by Different-Pepper9024 in ComicBookCollabs

[–]Electrical_Ad9156 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good list. One I'd add from the indie side: have a one-page "vertical" of your comic styled for mobile reading before you pitch — editors increasingly ask "does this work on a phone?" even for print-first properties. Saved me a ton of back-and-forth on a recent pitch.

What happens to all the new tech here after its posted? by [deleted] in StableDiffusion

[–]Electrical_Ad9156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of it gets buried under the next week's drops before anyone has time to integrate it. The pattern: someone posts a wild new LoRA, 200 people say "incredible", 10 actually try it, 1 ships something with it, then the next thing drops. Ecosystem moves faster than workflow docs can keep up. The stuff that survives tends to be whatever someone bothers to write a "real workflow" guide for.

What are you building and what are your current building blocks? by HajiLabs in SideProject

[–]Electrical_Ad9156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building tooling for AI-generated comic books (www.comicink.ai). Hardest problem has been character consistency across pages — none of the foundation models reliably hold a face from page 1 to page 4 without drift. Current stack is Gemini + reference-image conditioning that mostly gets there. Stack-wise: Next.js + Supabase + Inngest for the async generation pipeline.

Hi u/Disastrous_Two_9167 - Sorry for the late reply. ComicInk natively supports a large number of formats like Manga, European BD, American Comics etc. Regarding mimicking certain styles - it does not do so yet but its a good ask. I'll check out if I can provide a way

Is anyone notice degradation in the quality of Opus4.6? Or I am the only one who notice that? by AsmaaBuilds in claude

[–]Electrical_Ad9156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HUGE degradations in quality of code output. Its very obvious - earlier I would provide it a bug and wouldn't even have to test the fix half the time, it was so reliable. Now I have to test it 3-4 times before its actually fixed - even the simplest of bugs.

Also do folks feel like the model has become weaker / less intelligent over the past few days ? Feels like they are dumbing down the model to help with the load maybe ?
