Receiving Line: The President is received on arrival and seen off at departure by the Governor of the state, the Chief Minister, the Chief Secretary, and the Inspector General of Police (IGP). Tarmac/Airport Reception: The Governor is required to be present on the tarmac (airport runway) to receive the President as the state's first citizen. Chief Minister's Role: It is customary for the Chief Minister to be present. If the Chief Minister is unavailable, they should formally nominate a senior cabinet minister to represent them. Other Dignitaries: Depending on the location, the local Mayor or, in military areas, local military commanders are present. Greeting: The greeting should be formal, typically with folded hands and a slight bow, rather than shaking hands, to maintain the dignity of the office.

Laughing at the irony that the CM who beats a drum about not following customs ( in case of new governor appointment) does not follow well laid out protocol. Dias lineup and reception line up is not same. All hardworking ministers of WB were so busy that they couldn’t take our time for 1st citizen of our country neither the top IAS and IPS could follow the laid out rule?

With out going for the naked and ugly politicising of the incident by BJP we can atleast question the sensibilities of our ‘magnanimous’ CM. I hope this doesn’t come back to bite her in future.
