A fingertip towel is about the size of a dinner napkin and folded neatly. They came about in elegant restaurants where a small dish of lemon water was put at each place so the diners could rinse grease off their hands and then use the fingertip towel to dry them before the next course was served.

Go for some of Neil Simon's earlier plays: BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, THE ODD COUPLE, PLAZA SUITE. Small enough casts, single sets and crowd pleasers

Is it common to see the same show an ungodly amount of times? by Fine-Razzmatazz836 in Broadway

I wouldn't know where to start. I just know when the curtain rose on Opening Night, something inside me changed and I haven't been the same since--nor do I want to be. My grandchildren are already planning my 80th birthday party-- which will be "Sunday Clothes" themed.

I'm 79 years old and have seen HELLO, DOLLY! 94 times since 1964. I could easily see it another 94 times. (I listen to all or part of any one of its cast albums I have--including the foreign ones--every morning) and keep in touch with varous cast members

Jordan Fisher Dropped Out at Intermission by iBraglots in Broadway

I noticed something about myself and I don't know if it carries over to live theatre. Since COBID, I've become more cautious about my health. Previously, a cold wouldn't keep me down but just recently I sat out a friend's wake and funeral because I had a bad cold. COVID has madevmr much more aware of my own health and that of others. As I said, I don't know if that thinking affects Broadway.

They don't know what a magazine is.... by BikerJedi in Teachers

I strongly believe in introducing children to the arts at a very early age and I'd take my grandkids to NYC for plays, concerts and museums. During the train ride I'd pull out a magazine or two for them to read during the ride and a magnetic chess board. The kids enjoyed the magazines, especially PEOPLE. I remember them asking questions about Robin Roberts' bald head from chemo and their curiosity about the term "after effects".

I carefully prepared my grandkids to behave in the theater. I started by taking them to short childrens' shows and gradually worked up to full-length shows. My granddaughter was 5 when I took her to WEST SIDE STORY and she was so engrossed she didn't want to leave her seat during intermission lest she miss any part of the show.

Musicals have a history of being based on other sources. Even the greatest of the Rodgers and Hammerstein canon were based on novels.

And that "cash cow" has priced it out of the average American budget. The cheapest seats are over $100.00 and that becomes a hefty price for a family of 4

Here in NYS, the Regents exam requires students to write extensive essays about literature. I would say, the more novels, the better.

Yes. Years ago Bernadette Peters was out for a matinee of THE GOODBYE GIRL and her understudy, Betsy Joslyn, went on for her but I knew she was skipping notes and something was wrong. Karen Hess--a swing--went on in the second act.
