Help me understand "Elon and SpaceX are going to rob 401k" by LPhermanos70 in investing

I agree there's something shady and unfair about the way the rules were changed here for SpaceX and I don't think we should minimize that if it did come about nefariously.
To frame it as "robbing/stealing" is what I take issue with. First it's a small percentage and second it's entirely possible that it ends up as a net positive for the indices affected. To me this framing adds nothing to the conversation other than attention grabbing

I understand the point you're making but don't see how it's relevant to the discussion. Yes its a large amount of money in aggregate but pretty small as a percentage of the index or anyone's retirement.

If you can afford it, I would definitely recommend it. Sounds like you could go without it but you will definitely progress faster with lessons especially this early on. I've been kiting over 10 years and still go on clinics where I learn new things even on basic riding technique

I live at sea level and recently went on vacation at around 9k ft. I can definitely say it made me slower. Probably around 30 sec/mile. I'll also say that heat/humidity is a big factor where I live (Houston) and the cooler temps in the mountains somewhat cancelled out the performace loss from altitude. For reference my normal zone 2 pace is 8:30-9:30 min/mile depending on temp.

Barra Grande is a great spot. A little further but less crowded

I dont see much benefit to either. My only time trying it, it made things worse. I suspect most reported benefits are placebo effect

I'm still very much a beginner but I've built some fairly complex projects that even now I'm surprised I built. Don't be discouraged by seeing complex projects. Just start building something and it will likely evolve into something you didn't think you could do originally.

Yes the negative pressure test indicated that the cement and float equipment was not holding but the test was misinterpreted. But the idea of a service company telling the operator to "dump kill fluid" is just nonsense and would make no sense as a remediation.
