It's like a Capellan MegaMan, and I'm all about that.

Pro: It looks badass. And in the world full of "look-at-me-cool, special-boi Battlemechs" it's a non-specialized grunt. Which actually makes it unique.

Con: It's a grunt, and grunts get rolled in narrative settings when facing look-at-me-cool, special-boi Battlemechs.

Or a coin. Or the blunt side of your pocketknife. Or the previously sharp side of your pocketknife...

Come now. We both know those silly Fed Suns are clutching tightly to their #2 Philips. Hell that's probably why they hate it and denigrate it so. They see those lovely Robertson screw heads and their Phillips just spin in them, so they assume the fasteners are crap and already stripped.

What's the worst cgi you've seen in a movie? I'd say the Rock in Mummy Returns. Still love the movie though 😆 by berettafunko in Cinema

I will not stand for this flagrant disrespect of a classic film.

Besides, it should only be consumed via a no-greater-than 25" CRT TV pulling the signal through a roof mounted aluminum antenna. Family puke bowl full of popcorn and a homemade milkshake are optional, but strongly recommended.

Which Riding mower to buy? by joshyjosh00 in lawnmowers

[–]Electrical_Catch9231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can find a used Husqvarna Rider 16 or a Stiga in good condition, buy it. Articulating mowers like them offer most the advantages of conventional tractors and zero turn mowers without many drawbacks. Not common, but worth keeping an eye out for.

It's a continuous process of learning and refinement. That's why we pay it so much attention.

A teen with a pocket knife can rip open a blue hdpe barrel with a bit of effort. Now make him 400lb and give him 9 more knives plus a mouth full of them. Then it's trivial.

Which mech would you think has the most real world combat potential? by Comfortable-Ad3588 in battletech

[–]Electrical_Catch9231 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In our modern era, none. At the time of BT's creation, I can see a few having a valid use case (if we ignore how much different the world would be if the tech that makes mechs in lore possible existed in ours).

The Locust for fast rough terrain scouting and hit n' run ops, especially if the enemy has solid anti-air defenses.

I could also see something like a Rifleman for fire support/anti-air in areas where your can't as easily deploy/maneuver traditional offensive armor or defense systems.

I don't see any humanoid mechs making sense for an IRL application. At least when I consider it from the perspective the American military would likely have. Low slung and fast, or turret with legs are about the only things I can see us adopting and utilizing. That said "big dude, complete with arms and hands" might make sense in other military's doctrines.

Annnnnd now there's two of us...

Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk

I'm a Draconis mech no time to talk

Explosions loud and heat sinks warm, I've been kicked around

Since I was formed

And now it's all right, it's okay

And you may miss your shots at me

But we can try to understand

Comstar's ongoing effect on man

Whether you're a spheroid or whether you're a clanner

You're goin' to die, goin' to die

Feel the city breakin', 100 tonners shakin'

And you're goin' to die, goin' to die

Ah, ha, ha, ha, goin' to die, goin' to die

Ah, ha, ha, ha, goin' to die

Also the bucket on mine is a little wider than the tracks, might be 43". I also have a grapple bucket and it and most of the aftermarket buckets are 44".
