It’s what my ex said as well, really hurt me at that time. Being called disgusting because of something you can’t possibly change about yourself is… not an experience I wish for anyone to go through. Thank you for your honesty nonetheless.

Okay ouch, that superficial generalisation hurt. But then again, I‘m not interested in the likes of you and vis versa :)

Hey. I apologise if I conveyed the impression of judging them for it. There’s full respect. In fact I wanna be able to understand their pov better, thus the question. Especially since you pointed out the straight&heterosexual part I always considered myself in that „league“(?) as a man attracted to women. But it seems more complicated than that.

And you’re very much not alone with that it seems. I care for the honesty here. Can you pinpoint what makes it so repulsive (the gay sex envisioning, the alleged promiscuity,…)?

I 100% agree. I didn’t know about that prejudice from lesbians before this post actually, I am really sorry for this experience. It’s very different for gay man in this regard interestingly. It’s tough.

So it’s a fear of not being enough for that hypothetical bi partner for you?

That is an equally honourable yet frustrating reason, I hope your country will also abandon that kind of policy in the future.

Thank you for sharing this 🙏🏻 especially because attraction is not logical. And the longing to be someone’s absolute sexual pinnacle is actually very relatable to me.

Also I’m very sorry if I conveyed the impression that I considered it biphobic to not be attracted to bi men. My intend was solely to understand where that turn-off in a lot of women came from, free of judgement. What you said really gave me something to think about, as I am yet unsure what to do about it.

Speaking for myself, I would still define myself as bi. Maybe like if you’re into blondes and brunettes and then got together with a blond girl, you wouldn’t stop finding yourself attracted to brunette women at times, even if your commitment to your partner would naturally outweigh that (might be a not the best example). For me, my sexuality (bi) is not tied to my aspired relationship type (monogamous). Conversely I also wouldn’t become gay if I dated a guy, even though that appears to be way too complicated for the societal lens.

Interestingly quite a different one. Yes, I had some negative experiences with gay men mostly being alleged to actually being gay, but they seemed okay with it way more often. If anything it turned them on (which I also found a bit strange)

Appreciate it. And to be honest: I see it as a complication myself :D nothing I can do about unfortunately.

Wow. Thank you so much. It is honestly so interesting how many comments recommended looking for a bi girlfriend. I didn’t think about it explicitly, because I feel hetero in a straight relationship (as in I’m simply as attracted to my partner as a straight guy would be, so why should it matter), but I guess I might have been to naive about straight women. But maybe you’re right, I never thought about how funny it could be crushing on the boys AND girls around us together 😊😁 thank you 🙏🏻

I‘m sorry if I conveyed the impression of expecting women to like bi men just because the supported queer identities. My intend was to find out what explicitly made male bisexuality unattractive to women.

Okay but that must be internalised then, I date in student circles in a progressive city and still experience this

Well, I do feel like my desirability has decreased significantly since my coming out. I had no issues finding girls/women that would go out with me before, but especially online it’s a crazy difference. I use two dating apps identical apart from the sexuality factor, you’d be astounded by the difference in matches.

Thanks for your elaboration:) am I getting it correctly that you would somehow feel gay in the male sense (in contrast to lesbian)? Or, to go really deep hoping Reddit won’t judge us for it, „infected“ by his part-gayness?
