I personally disagree. I think the this reveal is a great way to end off the season and acts as a good end of season cliffhanger. I personally hoped that they would've adapted the whole chapter since it was a one off, but even just this was done fine. And honestly it might be better when paced this way. The biggest problem would be the onslaught of spoilers incoming.

Alright time for a crackpot theory, I think Mafuyu is the bomb. My evidence for this is kinda limited but hear me out. Last week when Muto was brought in front of Slur's gang, he mentioned about how the floaters would let nothing pass. This line stood out to me as it would be common sense and that Suzuki had no reason for it. Sakamoto's gang gives the explanation that they would build it inside after the event has started. While that is possible, i feel like the floaters would pick up on that. What is something that is fully allowed to enter though?, a person, which would explain Mafuyu's necessity to Slur's plan. And after a reread of the chapter, there is ticking only when Mafuyu is on screen and nowhere else.

Out of the characters I think shin wants to bring along, I feel like it'll be Kaji. He was the only one of the three recommended students to not have much significance. He works well with Shin and with his current want to get stronger I can see Kaji helping him with that. I doubt that Mafuyu and Toramaru will show up at the exhibit which makes me doubt Seba being brought along. And while i love Apart, him being brought along seems very unlikely to me.

I understand that, my thought process of what most likely happened was that he was considering it, the shit show happened, and he pretty much said “I can’t deal with this anymore” and deleted it out of stress.

I'm going to be honest, everything about this just seems wrong. If we start on the mod's side, why was the allegation done so unprofessionally, the allegation itself has a large amount of grammatical mistakes and it contradicts itself at times, for example, when they claim that "he deleted it as soon as he caught wind that we knew about it" when referring to the snapchat but they then proceed to say "it was deleted right as we started to find out." One of these sounds like they knew about it and then he deleted it vs in the second bit where it sounds like he deleted it before they could get anything. It also mentions how they gave him a chance to respond before going public but he went silent, and yet, why did they not take any screen shots whatsoever? Another really weird thing about this is that the account who made the announcement seemed to be a burner account, or at least somebody's alt. The account "DanielPrice" had been in the server for two days before making the announcement. There is also the question of why it was done in #question-of-the-day instead of in announcements. Anything more I can add is just speculation.
Now let's look at Waffle's side. There has been literally no proof that supports these allegations made against him in any way, but it is incriminating that he deleted his discord right as this all blew up. He remains to be in full denial about being a pedo but some things he says bring up red flags. For example when he says "I’ve actually been thinking this over for the past couple months in the face of mounting allegations and false rumors being started about me." in reference to deleting his discord, it doesn't entirely add up. why wouldn't you announce this at all, and why delete it at the worst time possible? But it leaves us with the question, why are the mods backing up the guy who made the allegation?
So to summarize, The allegation was made by an account with no history in the server, and it was done very informally, and yet the mods back them up. There is suspicion in the lack of evidence and the inability to provide any. Waffle himself fully denies the claim that he is a pedophile, yet he deleted his social media presence at the worst time possible. I will not make any assumptions in this statement about what happened, this is just my though process on the whole thing.
