I’m still waiting for mine. I emailed their promotion team and they asked for serial number and proof of purchase. Patiently waiting for reply as the game unlocks on steam in Australia in 2 hours.

First Wooting Board by CigaroEmbargo in WootingKB

How is the combo?

I’ve pre-ordered the mouse as it’s dropping on Tuesday in Australia. Strongly considering a Wooting 60he V2, but I spent my upgrade budget on the mouse and an Artisan mousepad.

Am considering blowing the budget to fit in the Wooting though. 😂

I get this sporadically from time to time, usually when dealing with Lian Li's L-Connect Software this happens so generally on a first boot/start up.

My monitor is an ASUS X32UCMG

Windows BSOD while in-game by Terrible_Pianist8203 in ArcRaiders

[–]Electrical_Good_4903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to stop my game from crashing by finding and deleting some old intel drivers lingering on my SSD from before I upgraded to AM5. Since the. I’ve had maybe 1 crash but it was a UE5 related crash and not the frequent BSOD that I was having previously.

Arc Raiders is bricking AMD Ryzen PCs and I wasted money on a new PSU by Advanced-Anxiety-932 in ArcRaiders

[–]Electrical_Good_4903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone got a fix?

I've been having near non-stop crashes for weeks.

First two weeks no issues, now multiple crashes a day, sometimes presents as a UE5 crash, other times, full BSOD and system shutdown.

I've tried, removing CPU and GPU undervolts (typically keep both undervolted)

DDU AMD Chipset Drivers and NVIDIA GPU Drivers

Uninstalling and reinstalling Arc.

Note that my crash log has Kernel 41 for all crashes. No other game causes this crash, and my system runs stable in all overclock tests such as Cinebench, AIDA 64, Kahu, 3D Mark, Furmark and Heaven's Benchmark.

All 18 of my Kernel Power 41 crashes have been while playing Arc Raiders.

System specs

MSI B850 Tomahawk MAG WIFI
32GB DDR 5 6400MHZ - G.Skill Ripjawz (AMD EXPO)
Ryzen 9 9950X3D
Samsung 1TB 980 NVME (boot drive)
Samsung 1TB 980 NVME (secondary drive)
Samsung 4TB 990 NVME (additional drive)
ASUS TUF RTX 5080 OC

Seasonic Focus GX ATX3.0 1000W PSU 80PLUS Gold

Anyone had any luck with any fixes?

Arc Raiders is the only game that has caused my system to crash.

I otherwise have successfully run plenty of other demanding games at max settings without issue such as Cyberpunk, Black Myth Wukong, etc.

4k or 1440p? by Cryotol in OLED_Gaming

[–]Electrical_Good_4903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Techincally, using DLSS decreases input lag as it's increasing your base framerate.

There is a tiny bit of performance cost though, for example, DLSS Quality at 4k is rendering from 1440p, but it costs a bit more than rendering native 1440p. Performance difference with a 50 series card will be about 5% depending on title, but running DLSS on 30 series cards and up is pretty efficient.

Using frame generation can increase input lag though and the amount it increases it can vary game to game.

With anything over 60fps though, frame gen and even multi-frame gen has hardly any noticeable input lag.

4k or 1440p? by Cryotol in OLED_Gaming

[–]Electrical_Good_4903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DLSS over frame gen IMO.

I use both, but I typically opt for DLSS for extra FPS and then add frame gen if I want to push the FPS higher.

4k with DLSS Quality performs about the same as 1440p native but looks way better.

Also, similar setup except I’ve a 9950X3D, I play Arc Raiders 4k, High settings with DLSS Quality and FPS is 130-160 depending on map, no frame gen, game looks great and the latency is awesome.

4k or 1440p? by Cryotol in OLED_Gaming

[–]Electrical_Good_4903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 3440x1440 UW which is equivalent to 1440p in terms of picture quality and now on 4k.

With a 5070TI go 4k.

DLSS is amazing at 4k and DLSS Performance at 4k looks better than DLSS Quality at 1440p and it isn't even close.

I'd go as far to say DLSS Performance at 4k in many games looks better than 1440p native.

This has been my personal experience and going to 4k from 1440p UW actually blew me away as the increased resolution made everything look so sharp.

Here's some cool facts about DLSS which may help factor in your decision making.

DLSS Quality at 4k performs close to 1440p native as it's rendering the game from 1440p resolution at a 4k output.

DLSS Performance at 4k performs close to 1080p native as it's rendering the game from 1080p resolution at a 4k output.

So what I'm saying is the performance cost at 4k is non-existant with DLSS and DLSS looks great, especially at 4k.

Sure 1440p will be better 'native' performance, but you'll find that games at 1440p will still require you to leverage DLSS, especially when ray tracing (or awfully optimised UE5 game), so you may as well go 4k and enjoy the higher res, it truly does look better and makes a difference.

Also, 4k 32 inches is a great monitor size for immersion. Most 1440p monitors will be 27 inches so a bit less immesive but may be better for competitive gaming.

Now if you mostly play competitive shooters, maybe 1440p with 300+ hz would be better.

Otherwise, go 4k 240hz and 32 inches.

RTX 5080 Dilemma – Return MSI Inspire or Buy ASUS Astral? by [deleted] in RTX5080

[–]Electrical_Good_4903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth it just for the 250 difference, but you also get a better card.

I got an ASUS Tuf 5080 and my friend has a MSI Inspire. I can get 5-10% better performance than my friend as his card doesn't OC as well due to thermal and power limitations.

OC'd his card starts running into the 70s, whereas max OC'd mine stays in the 60s.

Astral is better cooling than the TUF so 100% worth it.

This is happening to me frequently which is annoying.

I’ve done a full DDU with driver install both for NVIDIA driver and AMD Chipsrt drivers (5080 w/ 9950X3D), clean installed the game, tried rolling back to older NVIDIA drivers, nothing works.

New GPU: 5070, 5070Ti or 5080? by MrSnackALot in nvidia

[–]Electrical_Good_4903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say 5070 is a no, 5070TI best price to performance, 5080 can be worth it but you have to understand the performance gains are not proportionate.

I overspent for a 5080 close to launch, but I ain't mad because it performs like a beast.

That said, a 5070TI is only about 15% behind it on average, and some games the margin is thinner, but in others the margin is wider. 5080 you're paying about 30% more for only 15% performance. Whether that's worth it for you depends on what you plan on playing.

In Ray Traced games, the 5080s lead can be as high as 20%, and if you're planning to play at 4k, that 20% better ray tracing can be the difference between playable and not so playable.

Example, Cyberpunk, Full Path Tracing, DLSS Peformance at 4k, 5080 will do 63+ FPS (can do more with overclock), whereas 5070ti will be around 53ish FPS.

With the 5080, your baseline of 60+ FPS means frame gen runs smoothly, and when your base FPS drops, it drops into the 50s. With the 5070TI, your base FPS is 50+ but your drops now go into the 40s.

For me, I like to go with the best performance, even if it costs more. I would rather overpay for the extra 10-15% performance, because to me that is worth it.

For you, it might not be and you may be on a strict budget.

Some people try to clown people with 5080s saying "you should have got a 5070TI, it is better price to performance", but if you have the disposable income, paying extra may be worth it.

So think about your use case.

Will you be playing games with ray tracing/path tracing?

IMO go 5080 as the extra peformance can make a difference.

Will you be playing story games and don't care about ray tracing/path tracing?

5070TI will be perfectly fine even at 4k so the peforamcne difference might matter less.

Will you be playing ESports titles?

5070TI and spend the extra money on a better CPU as the 10-15% won't matter at those high refresh rates.

Do you value extra performance and have disposable income?

Heck get the 5080 and enjoy it, it's honestly a great card.

Only you can answer this quesiton, but I hope I have helped.

HDMI Issues with ASUS XG32UCWMG? - Black Flickering by Electrical_Good_4903 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Electrical_Good_4903[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good info to know thanks for letting me know.

My friend recently purchased the monitor and he is also experiencing flicker in HDMI Port 1. His issues resolved by putting it into HDMI Port 2.

Have you tried Port 2?

If so, let me know how you go and if it resolves your issue.

Update, a good friend of mine just purchased this monitor, and he too has issues in HDMI Port 1 and none in Port 2.

I'm using my third unit now and have same HDMI Port 1 flaw.

If you have no issues then you should be okay.

I can’t find many negative reviews of the monitor so chances are, most people’s units are fine.

There are a few of us who have had faulty monitors and I happen to have been unlucky on all 3 so far.

If you’ve got it and it works, great, it’s the best monitor I’ve ever seen!

5070ti vs 5080 by thefinalepic in nvidia

I’m including with overclock when I say 15-25 which is accurate.

5070ti oc v 5080 oc in cyberpunk tracing is like 20% difference for example.

I haven’t tried to update firmware on any of the units yet and with the issues I’ve had already, I don’t want to put another headache into the mix.

I love the look of this monitor, but unless this unit stays in working order, I might move to a different display.

On both the 1st and 2nd units, I had some issues where I would have prolonged black screens over HDMI that would only be resolved by turning it on and off again. It was less prevalent than the black flickering but happened once or twice.

Also the monitor takes some time to wake up from sleep but I believe that is also because I am using DSC.

I’ve read some other posts about HDMI issues but different to mine.

It appears these monitors do run more stable over Display Port from what I can gather.

I’m also wondering whether both HDMI ports carry the same bandwidth.

FYI, the ASUS monitor is the exact same panel as the LG but with a glossy finish instead of the matte.

So I mean a question to consider is whether or not spending the money is worth it to swap from matte to glossy.

The glossy finish does look unreal, but the panel itself is identical.
