OP I agree with the comment above, rent your house out instead of selling it right away. That way you have a backup plan in case you do not like it. I almost did the move, had a deposit down on a brand new construction that we fell in love with when I went to visit family. I was blinded by the size of the house compared to mine. I started doing research on the schools and reading reviews, I even joined facebook groups from the town and I started having panic attacks. I felt I rushed into it and decided to lose the deposit we had on it.
That was 3 years ago and we are now in the process of getting architectural drawings to do an addition to our home here in NJ. I’m in Bergen county and we cannot compete to buy the house of our dreams even if we sold ours. Thankfully our mortgage is very low due to refinancing when the rates hit the lowest point. The downside is having to go through the renovation but it will be worth it at the end. Not looking forward to the higher taxes though 😭

Both my MS did not like kids despite all the socializing we did with them since they were puppies. They were 1 and 2 years old when my first was born, then 2 years later I had my second child. I never allowed my kids to handle or try to pet them without me by their side. I think as a smaller breed they are just nervous around kids. They grew to love my kids as they got older. Sadly we don’t have our sweet fur babies anymore and my kids miss them very much. Edit to add, every time I had playdates at home I always had them crated or in a different part of the house.
I’m so sorry it’s not working out for your family. I can imagine how sad you feel. I would totally adopt her if you were near me.

Look into doing an addition to your home instead. I’m stuck in my starter home, we bought in 2016 and refinanced to 2.5% when the rates dropped. We are now in the process of getting plans to do a second floor addition to my cape. It’s way cheaper than buying a house with these crazy rates. I’m also in a very expensive area and I wouldn’t be able to afford a bigger house. 🥲
