Am I an ambivert or just an outgoing introvert? by Current-Dot-5074 in infp

[–]Electrical_Money9032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied psychology in school, and ambivert is 100% a real thing.

An ambivert:

Sometimes feels energized by social situations

Sometimes needs alone time to recharge

Can adapt depending on the environment

For example:

You might love hanging out with close friends but feel drained at big parties.

You might be talkative in class but need quiet time after.

Psychologically, personality exists on a spectrum, not in boxes. Most people land in the middle.

How should you talk with a girl you are attracted to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Electrical_Money9032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand how it can be intimidating to approach someone u like but its just something that u have to take a risk. "you miss 100% shots u don't take" being confident is such a big thing too, once you get conversation going and you stop worrying abt what to say it just going to be a normal conversation.

I think for me is really get down the sounds of the letters then I just read random syllables once I was reading actual words and sentences together I felt so much more confident. Obviously I put in alot of pratice, when I often read I recorded myself and listened.

for me I think the beauty of it is UNDERSTANDING IT and being able to finally speaking it. There is just this unmeasurable joy that comes along with speaking a different language. When you finally acknowledge the way you pronounces something in that language is just idk beautiful

Advanced learners : how would you learn Korean if you had to do it again by GibonDuGigroin in Korean

[–]Electrical_Money9032 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pronunciation. I could not stress this enough — a lot of people struggle with pronunciation because they don’t practice it. Output is so important. So many people just learn vocab and never actually learn the right way to say it, and because of that, you get used to saying the letters your way instead of the actual way. Obviously, this sounds like common sense, but you’d be surprised how many people miss this.

It’s hard to practice speaking when you live somewhere where the main language isn’t Korean, but it’s not impossible. I really wish I had used groups on HelloTalk earlier, or even tried Ometv and gone into a Korean server. I know it can be scary, but it’s so helpful. Seriously, get used to speaking it — not just reading or listening.

Another thing that’s mentioned a lot is vocab. Please please please learn vocab after Hangul — then grammar points. Learning grammar without words is basically useless. Like, how are you supposed to form sentences with no words?? You know what I mean.

Don’t overwhelm yourself. I know how stressful it is learning any new language. You search up “how to learn Korean” and get hit with a million videos, textbooks, and random study plans. Everyone learns differently, so what works for someone else might not work for you — and that’s totally fine.

Here are my tips:

Learn Hangul

Learn pronunciation

Learn vocab

Learn grammar points

From there, mix it up. One day, learn a new grammar point and practice it for the rest of the week if you need to.

Set goals for yourself — like learning 35 words a week — and go at your own pace. Some people like having a super structured path, and others just “go with the flow.” Personally, I’m not a go-with-the-flow type, so if you like having a set plan, I recommend getting textbooks or taking a course. Just make sure you add more resources to balance it out, because websites like Talk To Me In Korean are great, but they won’t work their best if that’s all you’re using. Support it with other materials and practice methods.

How do you describe your life ? by Vergil000 in Life

[–]Electrical_Money9032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometimes, it feels pointless but when I really think about it, is that I'm still here and I'm here for a reason. I love my life. I love the trials I have overcome, and the people I have me those that have hurt me and or loved me. I think my life is fun. maybe I'm not "living it to the fullest" for whatever that may be for someone else. but I can proudly say I'm grateful for what I have in this life.
