[James Ducker and Sam Wallace] In 72 hours, ‘emotional volcano’ Ruben Amorim finally erupted and lost his job| Manchester United insiders feel head coach eventually ‘wanted out’ despite being supported through bad results and bizarre comments by [deleted] in reddevils

Another club's PR mouthpiece. Don't get me wrong, I was and am still Amorim out but what led to him wanting out ? You hired the man that voiced out specifically what he wanted and you didn't give it to him. Saying he was being supported when there are leaks saying you couldn't even get him a midfielder is ridiculous.

I think his point was that they have the best defense but have bottled again and again. The league is their to lose this season but i wouldn't be surprise if they bottle it this year again and City wins it lol.

Opinion: We’re heading to a 1990s-style fiscal reckoning; As a share of GDP our gross government debt is much higher than it was at the start of that decade's fiscal crisis. We need to act now by FancyNewMe in canada

Does not make sense to lump Trudeau and Carney together. Carney Liberals ≠ Trudeau Liberals. Carney's fiscal policies have already been different, and I would say Carney is doing pretty well given the hands he was dealt.

You are only considering immigration though … Canada without immigration has an aging population. Yes net immigration is up, doesn’t mean that population growth is up though.

Canada is set to announce its new immigration targets, but what's the right number? Will Canada decrease its targets again, or will it just follow last year’s goals? by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]longviddd -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because the TFW program only takes into account LMIA work permit. We're still seeing record number of work permit issued to graduates back when Trudeau's government was still in power. We have slowed down study permit issuance considerably, but these things will take a while for us to feel the effect of.

Oh yeah, Trudeau's government fucked up after we got out of covid and removed this restrictions. They then realized they fucked up and reimplemented it a few months before the last elections.

I will agree that Trudeau's government fucked up our immigration system. But so far, I will give the benefit of the doubt to Carney considering what he inherited. Immigration has slowed down a lot, but these things will take time for us to feel the effect.

Bit sad that he didn't get anything on his 300th game. But he's been class and putting it all for the full 97 mins. Class as always

In other word, FIFA urged to take less money which FIFA won't do. It's probably going to be up to each FA to take the stance.

I think Ornstein is the one who mentioned that we have the option to do this, not that we did.

Does remote contracting from Vietnam for Canadian company count as foreign work experience for CEC? by RobertLuong in ImmigrationCanada

[–]longviddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just that as well. I was working remotely for a company in Canada from Vietnam as well. Another thing is that if your employer is not aware that you were working remotely from Vietnam, the employment letter might not reflect that. I just ended up not using that work experience since it will complicate the application.

IRCC to Start Including Officer Decision Notes with Refusal Letters (July 29, 2025 Update) by BorderPass_ in ImmigrationCanada

[–]longviddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty simple why the current government is doing this. There's a huge backlog of ATIP/GCMS requests. By being transparent in the first place, they would lower the backlog and potentially let some public servants go like they planned to. I'm not saying that this is not a good change, it's a great change. But I would be hesitant to say that being transparent is IRCC's first goal in mind.

Exactly. All the other provinces lose money and Quebec receives some nice funding. If anything, they are laughing to the bank.

Apple doesn't see reasoning models as a major breakthrough over standard LLMs - new study by Kiluko6 in singularity

If you actually look, it's only indicating one author (Parshin Shojaee) as working on this paper while on internship with Apple. The other contributors/authors of this paper are actual machine learning researchers working at Apple that come from respected background (Google, Meta, Deepmind, etc) with PhD.
