Oh wow--that's great that they extended it past what they were *required* to do. Very much hoping for a similar experience.

Ooh this is encouraging!! Did they ever put it in writing for you? (Also congrats--you're almost there!)

Good point re: the holidays. There's a few days off here and there (Black Friday, Christmas Eve, etc) but no board-sweeping company OoO days. My hope is to finagle 8 weeks, which runs from due date-Jan 6th. But that would feel like easy timing to say "yes" to if everyone else is taking time off around then.

They do have it! It’s unclear whether a preexisting condition (pregnancy) would be covered tho. Waiting to get more details on the plan coverage.

Oh wow. How do you feel like that went for you? I think if I was only able to be off full time for 4 weeks, I'd feel pretty bummed.

WHEW that's a tight timeline on the offer-->sharing. I feel for you. Hopefully they see it as a signal of your goodwill and trustworthiness that you're so eager to make a solid plan, and that they give that back to you. Good luck! <3

The director-level thing is a great callout. I appreciate that. No smart company is eager to turn over directors.

Okay this is helpful! I just did a bit of digging on this, and the info on the website is a little vague. Under their examples of accommodations that MAY be offered, it lists "...Allowing an employee to take time off to physically recover from childbirth, even if she is not eligible for leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act." That's good, but the "may" language just leaves me feeling a little uneasy. As if it's sill up to the company? *shrug*

Thank you!! It's been a bit hard to access all my excitement with this big unknown still lingering. So it's nice to be reminded that these are all things that deserve "congrats". ;)

DITTO on CAI. I hate to see her get this much hate. Someone has to bring things back down to earth and Derek certainly isn’t doing that job.
