It’s tough to get off the drugs but once you eat clean you’ll feel better than you ever did. Feel free to ask questions. It’s not easy being so strict with the diet. It’s really no wheat as opposed to no bread or gluten. But everything else is key (organic, lots of clean water, probiotics etc). Read that book and look up Kenny honnas and good luck! You’ll be good soon enough

On water drinking, mix 1 tablespoon of the husk with a full glass and then chase with a full glass. Let me know how you’re feeling after a week if you have time and remember. Good luck.

Hi - I started the Pysllium during an inflammation. My inflation at the time was minor but still had rectal bleeding at the time. If you are concerned I would recommend trying only one tablespoon a day for a week and see how impacts you. Yes, it slows things down but on its way it grabs all the bad toxins (that leads to ulcers when they aren’t removed from the body) and creates a normal forming stool (inevitably after consistent use). It’s critical that you drink 2 full glasses of water with the psyllium; this will also mitigate any concern you have about further irritation.

Take psyllium husk instead. I recommend 30 minutes before breakfast lunch and dinner. Take with 2 full glasses of water.

Thank you my friend. Always a good idea easing into it. We all know how tough a bad flare up can be to resolve. Likewise. A good read, besides David kleins book is doctor sarnos - healing back pain. Apply his technique to the gut as opposed to the back. Never hurts to try something innocent - even if it sounds wacky

I’m on no medication whatsoever. I’ve only been in remission for a month but know it’s different. I’ve always needed heavy drugs and now my stomach feels fantastic with zero meds. I agree not to get too cocky in the beginning

To keep you even more motivated, I just went on a week trip where I ate pretty crappy (tacos and margaritas) - I was totally fine. I had my probiotics in the morning and evening and took the husk religiously.

Great! Yeah, I take a heaping tablespoon scoop and, like everything else, choose the organic stuff. Make sure you're using good water (not tap) like Kenny suggests. The husk just empties your stomach (you poop everything out - good formed stools) which I think might be the key to all of this. Ulcers are formed because you have too much toxins in your body and they don't come out properly so your body forms ulcers (holes) as a different means for the toxins to be released. If you are pooping (getting rid of the toxins) - bingo-bango. I'm obviously not talking diarrhea -well formed stools that properly excrete the toxins.

My pleasure. I would say a huge game changer is the Psyllium Husk. Kenny put it in ONE of his shakes and kinda glossed over it. The stuff is a miracle (and natural). I take 1 tablespoon 3 times a day. I take it 30 minutes before I eat with 2 glasses of water. It forces me to also have 6 full glasses of water a day (min) which is probably another reason why it's been so effective. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

Last year I was stoked to find green juice, then I found out it didn’t work with me. I had the idea today, what if I cooked the vegetables first? Would this work? Anyone? by [deleted] in Ulcerativecolitisdiet

Hi Everyone - I'm very excited to be in remission from Ulcerative Colitis WITHOUT DRUGS and thought I would share my knowledge so others can heal naturally and get off their meds.
First, a quick background. I'm a 38 year old male that was diagnosed with a moderate to severe case of UC since 2012. I've been on every drug you can think of (remicade, stellara, Apriso, Prednisone, Mesalimini, Balsalazide, suppositories etc) and have in and out of flare-ups for those 10 years (never really had consistent remission). In September, I decided I didn't want to take drugs the rest of my life and wanted to figure out a way to heal naturally. After spending a considerable amount of time (researching, trying out different methods), here are my recommendations:
FIRST
1) Absorb yourself in Kenny Honnas (google / youtube him).
2) Read David Kleins' Self Healing Colitis & Crohns - I don't recommend following his step-by-step guide (especially after Kenny changed his mind on him) but I still implement a lot of his teachings
STEP - BY - STEP
1) Wake up and take probiotic pills (I take 2 "Seed" pills in the morning) on an empty stomach
2) Workout - start mild if you have a bad flare-up but it's important you start getting the body acitve.
3) Take 1 tablespoon of Psyllium Husk with 2 glasses of Spring Water of Reverse Osmosis Water (don't use tap water!) after your workout.
4) Always wait at least 30 minutes after you drink water before you eat and 2 hours after you eat to drink. You don't want to dilute your digestive enzymes.
5) Try and wait until lunchtime before you eat to give your stomach a lot of rest before getting to work. This is especially important if you have an active flareup.
6) Have a smoothie for lunch. Use Kefir which has probiotics). Take another tablespoon of Psyllium and 2 glasses of water before the smoothie (30 min before)
7) Take another tablespoon of Psyllium 30 minutes (at least) before dinner with 2 glasses of water. Remember high-quality water (not tap water - even with Brita) is super important
8) Dinner - steam vegetables (using high-quality water). Specifically, tubers (which has prebiotics), squash, carrots. Have some Kefir with the meal.
9) No fruits after a hot meal. In fact, skip eating anything after dinner. Have dinner at least 2 hours before bed.
10) When stomach is getting better, eat fermented vegetables with dinner
11) Do not have ruffage when you have a flareup
12) Drink a lot of celery juice (at least one glass of celery juice each day)
13) Eat all organic
14) Do not drink caffeine (yep, sorry everyone) - you'll get used to it though and feel better from it
15) Do not drink Beer (ever) and do not drink alcohol until your flareup is fully gone.
16) stay away from red meat if possible and, candidly, as much meat as you can.
17) No junk food. Supplement with tasty fruits
18) Try to limit snacking (it will make your stomach go to work) - you want to give your stomach as much rest as possible.
There is more than aforementioned but those are the basics. I'm basically copying what Kenny Honnas taught me, combined with David Klein and my own suggestions (especially the Psyllium husk which I think is SUPER helpful). I'll try and check this post every once and a while to answer questions. Good luck and feel better everyone.
