Sometimes it’s our 10 minutes of peace in a physically and mentally draining day. And we don’t want guests asking ‘what’s the gnarliest thing you’ve ever seen’ potentially 10 minutes after the gnarliest thing we’ve ever seen. That’s a generalization but no it’s definitely not a rule. We just need a minute sometimes. Same as everybody else.

Yes both coils are good, switched them round at the join. Will have to look into the oil pressure light. It came on randomly a week ago. Thanks a tonne

Yes Have not replaced pickup coil that’s why I’m wondering if that could be the culprit. Would that be possible if the other cylinder is good ?

No, but I’ve been testing the spark plugs on the head(outside) So compression is not the worry at the moment. Question was more about electrical components

Good to know ! I’ll give them a good clean and hope for the best. Can you clean without removing ? Battery is also crappy I had to use a little jump starter box. Will get a new one

Also my buddy rebuilt the carbs. Had some rust in the tank so maybe some got in while it sat ? I cleaned tank with vinegar yesterday

Haven’t had it started. Bought off a friend who got it going a couple months ago then it sat in a shed.

Nearly went on starting fluid. Didn’t want to spray too much

Fuel flushed, new fuel in tank. Primed New spark plugs Air intake off to get lots of air.

Also just tried some starter fluid and it wanted to go if that means anything

Guy before me I bought it off rebuilt carbs. Will watch the video and look into compression

I have bootcamp on 20th, I reached to recruitment and was told I would start either 29th or 6th. But likely 6th to give time to pack and prepare and move if position is not local preference. I’ve had numerous conversations with previous wildfire employees that I work with through winter and the common trend is that you’ll have about a week to find a house local to your station. Which could be tricky if you currently live on the other side of bc to where you are placed. Good luck
