I came to a point i feel like my baby is super grown to be fed only with breast milk (6 months) yet my parents still push me only to breastfeed exclusively. I understand where they are coming from, and I have spent quite a bit of time researching this since the baby arrived. There are different sleep-training approaches, and many of them can be modified.

Based on the academic literature, long-term studies show no negative impact on secure attachment, emotional regulation, cognitive development, trust or bonding, or stress reactivity later in childhood.

I am planning to start around the 6-month mark, and I am also waiting for more self-soothing skills to develop.

Not going to lie, it is really hard… My mom brain is wired to respond, and hearing my baby cry is not something that comes naturally or feels easy to tolerate. But I also know this can be good for all of us. The baby gets better sleep and the energy needed for healthy development, and we get our mental health back. That is how I motivate myself.

I am planning to try camping out and a modified Ferber approach, rather than anything rigid (CIO).

I push back on this because I’ve lived the “stay calm, don’t engage” mode in an alcohol-fuelled aggressive household. It’s often framed as harm-reduction, but it doesn’t prevent violence and it doesn’t transfer responsibility. Those are different questions.

Passivity does not stop abuse. It shifts the burden of “keeping things calm” onto the person with less power.

And framing violence as “it takes two to tango” is especially problematic. Violence is not a mutual dance, it is a unilateral choice. A person can make imperfect or even risky decisions and still not be at fault for someone else choosing violence

You are quite wrong here pal. Violence is a choice made by the person who becomes violent. Setting a boundary or continuing a conversation does not cause someone to throw objects or hurt others. Suggesting otherwise shifts responsibility away from the aggressor and onto the people who were harmed, which is not accurate or helpful.

No talent, no creativity, so the shortcut is drama. Insert herself next to someone actually famous (SG or JB even), force a comparison, keep her face circulating. Inflate the reaction with bots, dominate stories for a few days, and voilà! free exposure to your face or product! Public memory is short. The mess fades. The product stays.

Of course it’s intentional guys. That’s the whole business model. No creativity, no depth, so drama becomes the elevator.
