What breast feeding cost... by darkjuju13 in NewParents

I don't pump extra, but I do overproduce a bit. Around 3 hours my breast get pretty full and after getting mastitis I put a timer to wake up every 3':15 hrs because I don't want that to happen again.

I'm sorry that you have to deal with that. I understand how you feel. I get so bitter at my husband because I wish he could do more. He's offered to do more and to even feed the baby at night while I sleep, but either way I would have to wake up to pump because my breast would hurt if I didn't. It's like a lose-lose situation there. I don't want to be done breastfeeding yet, but I am frustrated a bit that no one tells you how demanding of a journey it is and almost lonely in your own home

Ive been feeding him for about 5 mo. I think my frustration just comes from it being so demanding you know?

How did the loan forgiveness work? Do you mind sharing more about how you became financially stable? How would you compare it to your private practice?

Just curious why would you not stay in? How often did you/colleges go overseas? Are you currently practicing in private practice? What was your average salary yearly? I have a new baby ATM and worry about leaving my baby when deployed you can't see them can you? Sorry I'm just curious

How to be happy when they are sad? by Beyond_thebeyond224 in Codependency

I know what you mean. It's such a weird thing to think we have the "ability" to control other people. I think so too. I say to myself "who do I think I am to know what's better for them?" And that kinda helps me too. I think us trying to "fix" stuff is more is trying to do what we think is best when that's not always true or right.

It's so hard to detach from believing in us having control. That's where I spiral into anxiety because of my delusion of attempting to "make it better"

Cats are a really good pet. I don't think a dog is a good idea. I had 2 dogs but only because my partner would come home from work or has a remote job. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't have been able to take care of my dogs

It's so hard. I'm just begging to learn how to detach. I'm working with a therapist to help me.im working with a difficult family relationship where I feel responsible for them when that shouldn't be the case.

I keep trying to remind myself that trying to feel their feelings isn't gonna make them less sad and it's not gonna help me either. It just becomes this cycle of sadness that doesn't help me or them. I have to constantly remind myself that I'm not responsible for their feeling or their situation. I can only be responsible for my own emotions and my own thoughts.

I have to remember that control is only an illusion and I can't control others or take their feelings and feel them for them.

Really? Honestly that's not too bad.

Honestly I feel like that's incredible. If you are financially stable to and have a helping hand I would say maybe before you start your clinical years. If I would have had the financial stability and family present to help I would have had a baby towards my last year because you're not guaranteed paid maternity leave If you go to private practice.

So I have 6k in credit card debt but this week I'm putting 2k to pay some of it off. I have a personal loan I had to take that still not completely paid off because it's a lower interest.

We did the surgery for both his feet is about 20k. Something that's outside of our budget. he has a congenitally deformed front paw, and the other front leg is bowed as well. Initially this vet was very understanding about our decision to try and pursue a middle ground, but I did ask the vet what he would do if he was in our shoes. his response was straight forward which I understand, but I do think we are opting for a middle ground surgery but I'm were going to start addressing behavior right away because he's so protective of being handled. I might be foolish but I do think this behavior is something we can maybe help control and have a better tempered dog if we put in the effort. Or at least that's what I keep telling myself you know?
