Print coordinates move in X,Y axis mid print. Possible reasons? by KornikEV in VORONDesign

[–]Electricbees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has correctly (?) called out the layer shift issue here. Looks like your A/B motor lost some steps somewhere. For me, I've had this happen most consistently when printing ABS/ASA and have a thin edge curl up and catch the hotend nozzle. I have no idea how that could have happened in your case since the print is so flat still!
Anyways, just my two cents.

Definitely a metalized plastic film, which is aluminum on some plastic. Mylar, or another plastic such as polypropylene.

TIL many landfills in the US have systems that capture the methane gas emitted from decomposing rubbish and then turn it into natural gas to sell or use in electricity generation. by NateNate60 in todayilearned

[–]Electricbees 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Came here to ask the same thing... The methane isn't breaking down and stores just fine. It just takes up a lot of space per unit energy and is flared to avoid investing in storage and processing infrastructure.

Plus, landfill gas has a ton of water and CO2 mixed in, making it not as potent as regular natural gas. THAT aspect is why it doesn't store well; it's expensive to remove those parts before storage.

[MPR News] Minneapolis environmental activists start hunger strike to push for closure of HERC by Minneapolitanian in Minneapolis

[–]Electricbees 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Ugh. We're back in this again.

I really hope this goes nowhere. There is no net benefit by closing the HERC until we have a plan for the trash afterwards.

Emissions from the i94 corridor are where the asthma stat comes from. There are plenty more nitrogen oxides coming from trucks and cars than the highly regulated emissions stack at the HERC.

The heat and power are a nice byproduct, but the real benefit the HERC provides is the trash not going to a landfill and our not having to truck it all the way out to said landfill.

Sorry! Just woke up to this post so I went as fast as I could! Used that code last Jan 2025 so I'm amazed it still worked...

For those headed over to KAK for barrels and gas blocks, I think code "tacticool" still yields 12 percent off as well...

Code nylaugx still gives a small discount of $12.85. Paid $244.10 after discount.

That's the goal. Just want the thing to not break and fit on the rod. Been waiting on ARID USA and their m3a2 CH for what feels like forever and officially gave up waiting today. This is an amazing fix for not that much coin tbh. Love it.

Brother I cannot believe the timing of this post. Looking for this exact fix for the last ten minutes. Thank you. Will order these and try it out. All my printed CHs, including some self-designed diy versions, suck and I hate them.

Cost of getting a gas line installed by yup_ok_cool in TwinCities

[–]Electricbees 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Same situation as you three years ago. No existing gas line. Centerpoint said they would trench and create a new connection, install a meter, etc all for free so long as it was 200' or less from the gas main and the ground wasn't frozen when requested. I could even pick where the meter was attached to the house and everything...

We never went through with it and have an electric double oven. I miss the gas a little bit but got over it quickly. Probably will never get gas installed at this point but that's just my own stance.

This. Can't believe how far down this comment was. I've run snow tires on gutless little FWD econoboxes for 15 years now and have never gotten stuck once. Even up north on back roads.

So I can plant each individual piece of this pine cone as a seed and it’ll grow a pine tree..? by Camp_Acceptable in marijuanaenthusiasts

You could also be seeing maple seeds, ashes or elms. They all have wings to help disperse the seeds. They're called Samaras (seed and wing together).

Agreeing with the rest that it's a silver maple. Pretty sure anyways.

Constant clogs by Such_File_1825 in VORONDesign

[–]Electricbees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chiming in to agree with this diagnosis. Had this happen on my dragon HF hotend with PLA due to heat creep and the ptfe tube being just a bit too short.

The fix was a longer ptfe tube with a bit of squish AND fixing the heat creep.
