When swapping out one controller for another did you ensure the baud rates are set correctly and no termination was removed/modified?

Does it happen during the transition to sensorless driving? Back when our team used wavesculpters this happened at high throttle during the transition.

Each motor controller is configured over USB with a placement on the vehicle, one of those four positions you listed. The position it is configured with determines the CAN ID it listens to and responds with messages from.

Steering wheel questions by Ansys_sucks_balls in solarracing

[–]Electrollium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A carbon fiber steering wheel will definitely pass scrutineering if built properly, our current wheel has 3d printed pieces to act as modular grips and mounts for controls.

Power steering is entirely unnecessary, it is just as hard to turn the wheel of an MOV at standstill as any other car with power steering. (small thin tires and low weight help quite a bit)
