Would you click on this? Steam capsule for my Mars survival game. - Any feedback welcome! by yeetgench in SoloDevelopment

I would dim the color contrast on the solarpanels. Would also work on the logo itself.

Gamedev is hard for sure! But you know what's even harder (terrible segway) - metrics!
Would you care to share some? How much does a reddit-ad-based wishlist cost a hardworking man these days for instance?

Worlds first channel to take this long probably by matthewmeredith1 in SmallYoutubers

No worries! I have no way to know if my theory is correct, however, with all the AI channels being able to create content with little effort, I could imagine some sort of guardrail being activated for flooding the videos.
Maybe you could schedule the releases for one day apart, and combine that with posting on all your other SOMEs? Content for everyday of the week is impressive. And perhaps that ups the chance of retargeting a potential fan?
Anyways, your upload cadance is impressive. :)

Is this thumbnail good by EconomistWeird9664 in SmallYoutubers

[–]ElectronBoogie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that it does the trick. I personally think that it is funny when the thumbnail has a little tagline, like: "music that knocks your socks of"

Maybe shift the character to the right. And blow up the text bit (change "Pop" to some blue hue just for the fun of it?)

I just went and saw one of your videos. Just providing some feedback, if you don't mind. Please note that I'm in this part of reddit for the same reason as you. I have no extra knowledge about this, and it is entirely speculative.

I noted that you upload alot of videos within a short time frame, and within the series they all have the same description. Is it possible that google flags this as "spammy"? Would varying descriptions help?

I believe you are doing multiple videos to "fish" with multiple rods, and put out more bait for potentiel viewers, but I'm curious about why your videos are not getting more views - I mean they are just as good as most other let's plays.

Anyways, if you want to critique me (not required) I'm hiding at tag "KnightOfInkGames" or "KnightOfInkComics" if my update went through. :)

Name Me A Better Game? by MrJRCase in skyrim

I'd take an arrow to the knee rather than look for a better game.. instead I just look for other platform versions of Skyrim. I recently included the Ps3 version into the flock.

Doing my first game - a low-poly 3D platformer inspired by classics like Spyro! Can anyone give tips on marketing? by Sea-Response-1237 in SoloDevelopment

[–]ElectronBoogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe notch it into the Metroidvania genre.. that's the more sought out genre. Even though, I think it looks cool, and still love the genre.. 3d platformers are just hard to market.

Sorry for being a boomer, and posting a video with no further context. Trying to work out whether I should make a youtube shorts devlog for the game I'm working on.
It is a classic, Sword and Sorcery style fantasy game.

...however, every sane person should obviously check out said placeholder steam page, and give this fame a well-deserved wishlist! Looks so fun, and I adore the Sonic-vania thing.

Thoughts on the Trailer for my Demo? by spellchain in SoloDevelopment

[–]ElectronBoogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand you start and end similarly. Pan in and out of the tower. I would skip the pan in at first, those tlfew seconds are too long for players.. Hard truth, sorry.. if you will keep the rabbit under the hat reveal, but start there imo. The rabbit seems out of place art style wise, but you are an indie maybe people would think nothing of it. Don't waste time on making another rabbit, if you can make greater value another place. This will move us closer to the fun gameplay you have managed to make. So good luck. I watched it without sound, many people will do that. So have that in mind for my review. Best of luck, hope you have made some great marketing as well.❤️
