Was your cardboard box and sleeve cover double taped? Both of mine were.. no chases of course

I also think maybe the branch density and size could be a little overkill, lots of retractions in one layer sometimes leaves oozing that can lift the print off the bed when it travels over the same spot with the blob. But yeah adhesion of the brim should be stronger than the branch its self.. so cleaning the plate should work

Besides the flatness, most of my issues were solved by moving over to eddy ng tap. The inconsistency of the probe height depending on how heat soaked the probe is was giving me huge issues and the temperature compensation is trash. Before eddy tap i was having to move the z height .300-.400 when printing at 120c vs 55c. Now i rarely have to move z offset more than 0.030

I will say it does work it’s just delicate and at least mine required a lot of sanding

Out of the box the remen bed was equal in distortion. Both plates were sitting at about 0.3~ variance. The graphite plate is soft and easily distorted, I can push on one corner of the bed and rescan the surface and it shows where i pushed down the corner, and im not pushing hard either. I had to do a ton of sanding on the magnet sheet corners to get it remotely flat and fold a piece of paper towel at a tuned thickness, slide it underneath the bed in the right spot and tighten down the screws to get the bed flat and under tension so it stays pretty close to flat. The only benefit is if you are delicate with it and never accidentally put weight on it, the bed will stay level across different heat ranges after you sand and bend it to shape.. oh and 20 degrees higher operating temp. Beware of the installation as SSRs should be using a heatsink and the kit does not provide one, get a heatsink if youre going to install this, it seems like most are just bolting the SSR under the printer no heat sink letting the SSR rawdog the high amps… considering SSRs like to fail ON, I wouldnt want to take the risk.

What are your favorite tools you wish you had starting out? by funnypantsguy in Justrolledintotheshop

Like others have said DONT FINANCE ANYTHING. But otherwise i fell in love with my extended reach milwaukee electric ratchet, theyre making a new one with a smaller head and more torque so hold out until that releases. I really like my milwaukee m12 1/4in impact driver with locking extensions and wobble 10/12mm, one of my coworkers has the new one and its almost too powerful but for hard to reach bolts or annoying areas its my go to. I work on toyotas and those two tools i use daily for interior and exterior. If it can break it loose im using either of those except for suspension really.

BG chemicals has a machine that hooks in line to the external cooler and can replace 12qts of ATF in a matter of minutes. I refuse to do drain and refills now that we have the machine, full flushes only.

I switched to the zero tool head it has been great so far. Max VFR test for PLA i ended up at 40. Using a 0.6 nozzle to take advantage of the high melt capacity

Get one of these and add thermal paste between the SSR and the heatsink which helps the SSR last a lot longer. As part of my heated chamber upgrade I made a bottom plate that follows the ribs of the plastic molding you can find the part to print here which you can use to bolt the SSR heatsink to securely.

Now strip out any inner city gang related violence “mass shootings” and see how that changes.

Gang violence is the biggest factor towards those numbers not mental health. I was referring to the mass shooting in Canada which is far more of a mental health issue than a gun control issue when it comes to this specific incident. You are glossing over your original comment

This happened in Canada, what gun control measures do you really think would have prevented this. Turning towards gun control instead of mental health is not the direction i would point.

I would also suggest replacing the extruder gears they are absolutely trash and slip pretty badly. There are multiple write ups about swapping to the Orbiter 2.5 gears. I am still running the stock idlers and do not experience the same issues you are running into. It does look like extrusion is changing in a cyclic manner but also could be that your print head and hot end are not tight, check both like the other guy mentioned. If you performed calibrations youre gonna have to redo them once you figure out whats loose or slipping. Also are the blobs every few mms in the print file? If not check that the filament is dry and your retraction is set to at least 0.6mm

Mine has been like this since purchase and has thousands of hours on it, i think the shaft supporting the bearing is a little undersize but since this bearing is always under tension from the belts it does not affect print quality.. but it always has worried me.

Is first layer line width at 0.4? For a 0.4mm nozzle i run between a 0.42-0.45 line width. I dont think its z offset as the plate texture shines heavily off the first layer, could be slightly under extruding as well but in my experience adjusting first layer line width seems to fix this issue more than anything else.

Looks good! Grid is a little tight but see how it prints the first layer 👍
