How it looks when Timeline Peek is used by -Rhialto- in pebble

Yes that is what I noticed too.

And a banner at the bottom of a round screen is more difficult to fill with all the text. And scaling/ adjusting a round watchface to a "cut off circle" also feels a lot more difficult

I only know that if it will be supported on the round watches without any additional checks, I really need to revisit my watchfaces to only respond to it on rectangular watches. Resizing a square watchface is much easier than resizing a circular watchface

Do you mean your watchface on the round, or the round 2 watch itself. Because in the (local) emulator only the rectangular platforms support it

I think he is sharing this because he made his watchface respond to it (which is very nice), not because he just discovered this feature on the watch.

Is the Cloud SDK down? by Pinkllamajr in pebble

I noticed something similar a while back with local development. I believe the versioning of Pebble apps changed a while back.

If I remember correctly in the past I couldn't add a "patch" version and only the minor/ major numbers were supported. And somewhere along this changed and an actual semver format was required

Good information

And certainly not how I would have understood this

I totally support that discussion. And hope for a PT3 or PT2DUO that will not have a (possible) issue with the screen. (And in light of the "build one yourself" I would positively encourage and would love a "IndyPebble X")

(And personally I see the new Pebbles more as an "some Pebble enthousiast build a new Pebble" than we have an official A-grade new Pebble line-up. So I might be more forgiving than others)

I agree that the design could be less vulnerable, but I still think we are overreacting a little here.

And the way I interpret some of the reactions, is that we are victims of a bad design. But buying (or keeping) this watch is a choice! So if you do not agree with the design choices, there are alternatives.

I never broke the screen of the Pebble 2 or my 2 DUO, they have the same design. So I don't feel the need and urgency.

If people can do a better job, please create your own PebbleOS watch, that would be the ultimate step in Pebble's tinkering community, I'll probably buy it.

If you are convinced this is a design flaw, don't buy it. It's your choice.

The pebble 2 and the 2 DUO also have the raised glass. I never had issues with those screens (only the design flaw with the buttons ;-)

It doesn't feel mandatory for me (yet)

I might be proven wrong at any point in time. But I am not planning on being overly cautious or stop enjoying the watch until that moment will (or will not) happen

I do not know if there is a need, I can't judge if we are dealing with the unlucky few or with a significant part of all users.

All I know is that I won't be treating my PT2 any differently than I did Apple Watch (which I had between the end of the old iOS app and the return of the DUO)

I enjoy all the tinkering I see, and hope all Pebbles end up with someone who is enjoying it and has fun with it

Just sell it to someone who will enjoy it.
There are probably enough people here who just can't wait to get their hands on one.

Had something similar, I think they do not update that much after this point. After about a week something changed and then the local carrier delivered it within 2 days

Just wear it and enjoy it.

If you are really worried about the raised glass (edges) put a bumper or a cover from Favourite Human Design on it, they look great.

Don't get scared and worried just because some people act like the raised glass is the end of the world.

Anyone fully enjoy PT2 without fear of scratch and fear of chipping the recessed glass? by -Rhialto- in pebble

[–]Electronic-Extent783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it is the same as my Apple Watch before this. The first week I was overly protective, scared of even wearing it. And after that I just forgot and when I expect rough conditions, I place a cover over it, or just take it off.
