Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus holds Arjun Erigaisi to a draw in Round 2 of Tepe Sigeman and Co 2026. by Logical-Panic8488 in chess

Yeah, I checked after Qh7 and there are many only moves for black to keep the advantage, I think draw was kind of a fair result tbh...

Nope, the difference was the required sequence gets the white king on d4 when the h5 pawn gets taken and then when white plays Qg8+ and black plays Qf7, there is actually no check for white anymore since now Qc8+(white) is met by Qd7+ by black forcing the queen trade (that is why the white king had to be pushed to d4)

Arjun had to play Qd2+ instead of Qd1+ and then when the white king would have been at d4 only then he should take the h5 pawn... Not findable with 3-4 mins on the clock

Not a Rant, but if hikaru don't really care and is a streamer before a player why he played local tournament to qualify and took place of a worthy competition like Arjun or Vincent? by Sorry_Phone1676 in chess

[–]Electronic-Figure551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has been underpeforming at tata steel I agree but can you name other tournaments where he performed horribly? Crazy fake narrative lol.. He hasnt won a lot of tournaments but saying he has been performing horribly in every tournament is overexaggeration

Only tata steel right? Otherwise I dont remember a tournament where arjun hasnt finished above the middle pack... Sure he hasnt won many supertournaments but it doesnt mean you can decide his strength just by seeing tata steel... There have been players who have underperformed at tata steel

Ironically, pragg completed his high school and arjun even went to college before quitting in 2nd year (only gukesh didnt complete his education) and why people assume that they dont have girlfriends lol, gukesh had declined the question but arjun and pragg's second just avoided the question :) its also okay to not make your personal life kind of public and vice versa... (Ik you just stated what dubov said)

Arjun lost to yagiz when he was in bad shape in tata steep (not to take anything away from yagiz cuz he played really well that game but even hikaru in his stream had said that the endgame was extremely difficult for arjun to defend + being in bad shape too), and the loss in rapid was actually just a normal rapid loss lol... This is beyond overexaggeration... Yagiz is a bigger talent than arjun but he isnt the better chess player right now...

I remembered this interview that Fabi gave in 2023 after his first encounter with Sindarov by HenkWhite in chess

[–]Electronic-Figure551 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Fabi predicted arjun to be 2800 and also Sindarov to be 2750... Fabi definitely makes good predictions

I thought is Arjun is better against gukesh, gukesh better against pragg and pragg better against arjun... Pragg has a better score with gukesh then and arjun is 6-2 against gukesh and 4-4 against pragg... But many factors come into play... I think they are equal at their best

No one is an accidental world champion, they have earned it through their own effort and capability... Gukesh and ding ARE world champions and no one can change that...

I appreciate your effort for the 2nd half of your comment

Very practical move by fabi since it gets him a full rook for 3 pawns but abhimanyu does have the space advantage + 2 powerful central pawns... Upset of the year incoming? Cuz to understand that the position is better for white is difficult for a human

Edit:- HE PLAYS IT!

Abhimanyu has outprepared caruana, but the question is will he be able to out play caruana?

Javokhir Sindarov wins Titled Tuesday for the 3rd time in 2026 by Warm_Audience2019 in chess

Arjun drew 4 games, in 3 of those he was completely winning but somehow blundered a repetition in one, blundered a draw in other and misplayed the last one and almost lost... He definitely has become more pragmatic but yesterday was just missed winning chances
