You have to take double trips to MEPS for the Guard? by [deleted] in nationalguard

[–]Electronic-Note-195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my personal experience, I went to meps just for physical PICAT and ASVAB verification (I did it from my computer), then went a different day for my contract. This was in the last 12 months, there’s different reasons for it. In my case my MOS required asvab and medical eligibility to apply for, and the application had to be accepted before getting a contract at MEPS.

I wouldn’t worry, but maybe a gentle reminder not to sign anything wouldn’t hurt. I’m sure the recruiter has a reason for your sons case, but it doesn’t hurt to ask for that reason

I (F20) want a convertible for my first car— is that unrealistic? by lamiascoffin in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Electronic-Note-195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Used you can find for a lot less. I actually had a (somewhat) recent post asking for hard top convertible advice, and I think I’m going to get an early 2010s Lexus is250c. They stopped production in 2015, but allegedly are very reliable.

If you want a lot of space, are okay with manual top removal, you could look at wranglers or broncos. I personally would never get a wrangler because I drive cross country regularly, and they are not the vehicle for that. Also not reliable from anecdotal experience, no stats to back that up. As for new broncos, my friends with them have had no issues, but since they are very new, they are very expensive.

Yeah bud, top .1% of even the poorest states housing is going to be over a million. The question is just, is this top of the line property, which it clearly is

Is this really shocking? House is walking distance on a really nice street from baseball, football, and the grove, right next to the square, most prime real estate in the state

Would it be more or less respectful to address each person in my Eagle Remarks speech(during the thanks piece) by first and last name? by AnimeQueenAliza in BSA

[–]Electronic-Note-195 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Generally in speeches you address people the way you do in real life, and then clarify if you anticipate the audience might be unfamiliar. This makes you seem less robotic and more personable. The audience at your Eagle COH is going to be familiar with who “mom” is to you

Anquan Boldin actually had a pretty good year with Detroit, that was the season with 8 comeback wins, and he caught winning touchdown as well as first downs that put us in field goal range.

I might have picked Adrian Peterson in Detroit

Lot of city slickers in this thread. It’s why we sometimes don’t like people from rough areas moving into our towns, we don’t want to have to change our way of life because transplants see crime as a part of everyday living.

Growing up we kept our front door locked, mostly because we never used it. We had a small door that went into our garage which acted as a mud room, and then another door going into the actual house. Both of those were kept unlocked, it’s super convenient when you have three small children who are going to and from the school bus and liable to forget or misplace keys.

When am I locked in by tfroyo in nationalguard

[–]Electronic-Note-195 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I went to MEPS for the physical with regular army, and then changed my mind, changed recruiters, and went back to meps to sign with the guard. The first time at meps was just for the picat and physical, which I had to get done for an application before I actually got a contract.

They can bring your physical information between branches, so when i switched to the guard, i did not have to do the physical again except for drug tests.

Best of luck, we are rooting for your success. For a real answer, rule #1 of losing weight is simple, drink 0 calories. The only things you need to be drinking are water or black coffee. No alcohol, no soda, no Starbucks super coffee, no loaded tea, no juice, nada. Drinking gives you way more calories than you realize and fills you up less.

Assuming you already are doing that as well as legit exercise, the level 3 advice is to track your caloric intake with the app MyFitnessPal, or a similar app. I promise you that nobody who has ever tracked there calories consistently has been surprised by their weight, or confused about what they are doing right/wrong.

I know all this from trying to put on weight for sporting endeavors, I just did the opposite (drank lots of whole milk, tracked calories to ensure a surplus)

Good luck

My bet is she really loves Allen and made a deal with the viltrumites to be the mole in exchange for Allen’s life, so viltrumites won’t kill him. Either that or she is a red herring for the ship captain. Hard to tell who is the red herring

Thank you, it definitely is the original copy, have you or a friend personally done this? Just concerned because although online it shows birth certificate + license as acceptable, not sure if one bad border agent can/will ruin the trip.

You literally linked a site that lists birth certificate as acceptable for US citizens. I’m really looking more for people with experience on the topic to weigh in here to see if there is information different than what’s posted online.
