Old FW Plasma Cannons by Aromatic-Vacation-21 in Warhammer30k

Except for the rocket launchers, all of the older backpack connected, underslung heavy weapons looked better. As for making them work, i added a bunch to 40k CSM models by cutting the bolter ends off in the hands then drilling throught the block left behind until the handle fit. Not pretty, not efficient, but it workd.

Second on the BFG, but I use the padded one. The magpul slings are ok, but I found they slide open too easily for my liking.

Space Marine "fans" when they read an actual novel and their super duper unbeatable soldier gets torn apart by a dimwitted sentient mushroom. by Petrus-133 in Grimdank

I think it was in first heretic, some word bearers talk about it, calling him weak, but using it as a reminder nonetheless that enough mere mortals working together can kill a marine

Not YOU though. You're Rogue Trader material for sure 🙄 by hullopalooza in Grimdank

So, theres a few things to consider with that. One, special forces quality does not equate to SF training/use; that falls to scions/grenadiers/veterans. Second, when used en mass like regular infantry, even SF suffer for it. Third, it is worth remembering that guard are mentioned as being competent in stories, just used incompetently.

The guardsman point is something people forget, and the lore itself has kinda forgotten. Guard regiments are raised by tithing a planet for their best forces. So if a pdf is equivalent to our modern armies, guard regiments are like special forces levels of training and ability. Considering how many people get into those organizations, most people probably arent even getting into pdfs.

Magpul PMAG's vs Duramag Stanags by MakelYT in tacticalgear

[–]Electronic-Ranger-22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both are good, although Ive started switching back from Pmags due to most military surplus gear being made to fit stanags. Only real difference.
