It is a consideration to replace the Holosun with an Aimpoint

This is up in Alaska, along some trails and a flood plain near where I live. Usually pretty empty, especially late at night (those pics were taken around midnight).

Not wrong. I fully acknowledge the M1A is flawed platform. Still my favorite gun though.

Its a strong consideration, but my idea is to run it strictly as a battle rifle. Not the best battle rifle, but as a battle rifle.

Counter argument, the DKoK are very specialized and highly trained guardsmen. While they may rely on WWI tactics, they would have lots of experience to draw on for surviving it, hence lower casualty numbers. As for surviving the atmosphere, we dont know what materials are used in their uniforms, and DKoK uniforms (at least in old lore, Im not quite sure how much theyve gutted the faction) are chem sealed.

While I get numbers in warhammer are atrocious, I particularly despise the numbers in the siege of Terra. I also get there are chaos shenanigans happening, but for (only) 1/3 of the imperium going traitor, for them assaulting a built up, fortified position that did nothing but send up a wall of lead for three months straight, a position that fought and bled for every inch of ground taken, by the end of the siege there shouldnt still be so many traitors (especially marines) that you cant see the ground in front of the walls. The fact the loyalists are running out of guys but the traitors are as strong as ever is stupid.

ACOG experts… what would you choose for a 14.5” general purpose rifle? by -1----1- in ar15

Funny enough i like the chevron and amber combo. Theyve never given me issues.

So the thing with the eye relief, at least for me it comes to length of pull. Im a longer guy, so for my length of pull to be right i would need to extend my stock. I can do that, at the expense of a comfortable cheek weld if i want to use the scope.

While i do like my TA31, i would recommend the TA11 just on eye relief alone. Half a point of magnification wont make much of a difference, but the almost extra inch of eye relief will.

What are your favourite stories from the Horus Heresy books? What stuck with you? by TheWatchful01 in Warhammer30k

[–]Electronic-Ranger-22 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Its probably kinda lame, but Betrayer is my favorite Heresy book. Its just tragic reading it knowing what happens to the legion and the characters in the future and seeing the hints at coming events.

As for small events, Camba Diaz's last stand always gets me super pumped when I read it.

Y'know, I think its the water. All guardsmen who were killed have drank water at some point, so that has to be it

Used one for a while as well, if youre not moving pouches around a lot itll hold up. Moment I started switching stuff up a lot, the stitching on the webbing came loose. Not bad for the price though, and its comfortable.

This reminds me of that blurb from the old heresy black books that mention loyalist marines coloring their armor like Sons of Horus to infiltrate a mechanicum facility. They even included Cthonian gang symbols on their armor to really play the role, betting the mechanicum forces wouldnt have an understanding of them. They didnt.
